Action folded around to Dzmitry Urbanovich in the small blind and he moved all in, already short-stacked, and Santiago Plante called from the big blind.
Plante tabled queen-jack while Urbanovich held queen-eight.
Plante flopped top two pair, and Urbanovich was unable to catch up, sending the partypoker pro to the rail towards the end of Day 2.
Michel-Claude Baroud has recently taken over the chip lead by staying aggressive and winning multiple pots. There are many players over ten million chips now, and a few that are fairly close to Baroud. Let's have a look:
For the majority of the day, there hasn't been much talk about the High Roller Champion, Mike McDonald. McDonald came into Day 2 with more than double the average chips but has not been very active. He has held steady around the four million chip mark for most of the day but with only two levels of play left, McDonald has started to push the action a bit.
There was around 300,000 in the pot preflop with the board reading , and McDonald was heads-up with his opponent who checked to him. McDonald bet 175,000 and his opponent called.
The turn was a and again his opponent checked. This time McDonald bet a much larger amount of 800,000 but again his opponent called.
The river was another deuce , and his opponent checked for the third time. McDonald fired 1,800,000 which finally forced his opponent to fold. McDonald will look to keep up the aggressive action for the remainder of the day in order to head into Day 3 with a reasonable chip stack.
The player in the hijack moved all in for 1,370,000 and Armand "Oyster King" King moved all in over top for 2,600,000. Jason Koon was in the small blind and asked for a count, clearly agonizing over his decision. Eventually he folded.
King tabled and his opponent showed for a classic flip. The flop came with the seven in the window, and King was already cheering. Koon stated he had both players beat, claiming to have folded two tens, specifically .
The turn was the and the river was the , giving King the elimination.
The remaining 246 players are on their last 15-minute break of the day.
Once they return, play will conclude after the completion of two more levels, after which time the remaining players will bag and tag to come back for Day 3 tomorrow at noon.
Xuan Liu appeared to be all in for 1,210,000 from under the gun, and her opponent in middle position had 300,000 in front of him, facing a bet of 910,000 more to call. He went into the tank and eventually called.
Liu was miles ahead with as her opponent tabled .
The flop came and Liu looked fairly happy about it. The turn was the , and her opponent picked up some outs to win.
Christian Harder was just involved in a massive pot and we were lucky to catch the end of it. The board read and Harder's opponent had checked to him. With already 1,300,000 in the pot, Harder bet 1,125,000. The action was back on his opponent who went into the tank for about three minutes. Finally, the words Harder was looking for came out of his mouth, "All in". The amount was around 3,700,000 and before the dealer could count the chips, Harder said call.
Harder rolled over for a flush, and his opponent had , for just the dry Ace. After a brief count, it became obvious that Harder had his opponent covered. He scooped, with no doubt, the biggest pot of Day 2.
