Bryne's Bust Sets Up Bubble Play

Level 17 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Paul Byrne raised to 45,000 and Stefan Schillhabel in the small blind as well as Laszlo Bujtas in the big blind called. On the {8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop, Schillhabel checked and Bujtas bet 58,000. Bryne moved all in for what appeared to be 270,000, and Schillhabel folded, Bujtas called and had his opponent covered by two big blinds.

Paul Byrne: {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}
Laszlo Bujtas: {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

Neither the {6-Spades} turn nor the {Q-Spades} river changed anything and that set up the money bubble, as only 12 players remain. The two tables will be balanced shortly.

Machon takes on Ruzicka

Level 17 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Bartlomiej Machon raised to 32,000 from the hijack and Vojtech Ruzicka three-bet to 92,000 from one seat over. Once the action folded back to Machon, he called and the flop fell {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs}. Machon checked and Ruzicka continued for 78,500 before Machon elected to check-raise to 225,000.

Ruzicka folded and kept a big stack two spots off the money, while Machon increased his lead.

Two Seats Open

Level 17 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante
Niall Farrell
Niall Farrell

Since the 18 last players of this High Roller was gathered on two tables, the eliminations have been happening rapidly. Two seats are now empty, as Keith Johnson and Niall Farrell both had their tournament lives ended.

First off Johnson moved all-in for 245,500 from early position with {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and Vojtech Ruzicka made the call holding {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}. The board ran out {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{K-Spades}, and Johnson was our 15th place finisher.

Shortly after Niall Farrell was eliminated after getting it in with {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} against the {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts} of Daniel Merrilees. The coinflip would not go the way of Farrell as the board read {8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades}{7-Diamonds} after the river, and Merrilees won a much needed pot to get him out of the danger zone.

Hall Takes Revenge on Heath

Level 17 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

At the end of Day 1, Ben Heath scored a huge double via runner runner straight against Tom Hall and the latter eventually busted soon after, then had to re-enter today. Just now, the duo clashed again and the outcome would be the exact opposite to send Heath to the rail before the money just when the last two tables were set.

Heath raised from early position, Hall three-bet to 113,000 in the big blind and then called the shove of Heath for around 420,000 with the superior stack.

Ben Heath: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
Tom Hall: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The board came {A-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{8-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and Heath joined the rail just a few spots shy of the money.

Nitsche Busts to Wheeler to Set Up Last Two Tables

Level 16 : 8,000/16,000, 1,500 ante

After a raise by Jason Wheeler in the cutoff, Dominik Nitsche shoved for 260,000 in the small blind and Wheeler called.

Dominik Nitsche: {A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Jason Wheeler: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}

The {8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop left the German inn desperate shape, but he picked up a gutshot with the {6-Clubs} turn. It was not meant to be though, as the {4-Clubs} fell on the river to eliminate Nitsche in 17th place.

Silver Done and Dusted

Level 16 : 8,000/16,000, 1,500 ante

Picking up the action on the {8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs} turn, Vojtech Ruzicka bet 45,000 and Max Silver raised it up to 135,000 with 260,000 behind. Ruzicka moved all in and Silver gave it lots of consideration before eventually nodding and calling it off.

Max Silver: {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Vojtech Ruzicka: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

No card in the deck could save Silver, as he was drawing dead already and took a big sip from his water bottle while the {2-Spades} river officially ended his tournament in 18th place.

Bartlomiej Machon Conquers the Chiplead

Level 16 : 8,000/16,000, 1,500 ante

Laszlo Bujtas made it 35,000 to go from the cutoff, and quickly called after Bartlomiej Machon raised it up to 120,000 out of the big blind. Machon continued for 100,000 on the {8-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{A-Spades} flop, and Bujtas followed suit. Both then checked through the {10-Diamonds} turn, to see the {3-Clubs} land on the river.

Machon thought long and hard before announcing all-in for an overbet of 506,500 and Bujtas instantly made the call. Machon flipped over {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs} for the broadway straight, making Bujtas shake his head, reveal the {A-Diamonds} and muck.

Machon is now leading the pack with almost 1,5 million chips, while Bujtas is back down to 325,000.

Simao Binks Big Pot Against Nitsche

Level 16 : 8,000/16,000, 1,500 ante

Dominik Nitsche was the initial raiser from early position, and Joao Simao, as well as Jason Wheeler in the big blind called. On the {J-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop, the action checked to Nitsche, and his continuation bet was called by Simao only. The {A-Hearts} turn was checked through before Nitsche also checked the {7-Diamonds} river.

Simao bet 86,000 and Nitsche then check-raised to 310,000 with as much behind. Simao gave it a lot of thought and Daniel Merrilees called the clock on the partypoker pro. Simao then eventually called and Nitsche tapped the table and rolled over his {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. Simao had that beat with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and scored a big pot.
