One table here in the Main Event on Day 3 is a stacked one and features Mike Sexton (currently up to 8,450,000). On it, pre-flop aggressor Louis Nyberg made it 500,000 from the hijack position and got a call from both Tommaso Briotti on the button and Ashley Williams in the big blind.
The flop of saw all three players check, and they did the same on the turn. On the river of , however, Williams led out for 700,000 from the big blind. Both players folded, so he shot a cheeky smile across at them and showed .
"You were winning. You got that one for free." Both Briotti and Nyberg tried hard not to react, and both retain more chips than Williams, but he won't at all, as that useful pot helps him get nearer the 12 million chip average.
Elsehwhere, Coong Sang Ngo has busted after spinning 1.9m up to 7m before being flipped out of the tournament.
Two further golden chip contenders have been eliminated in Marius Torbergsen and Andy Hills, while other notables such as Enzo Del Piero, partypoker pro Anatoly Filatov and Jan-Eric Schwippert also all had to settle for £12,500.
Robert Kostesky moved all in for his last 3,075,000 from the cutoff and the action folded to Luciana Manolea in the big blind. She peeked at her cards, gave it some consideration, and called eventually.
Robert Kostesky:
Luciana Manolea:
The flop was a sweat with straight and flush draw, and the turn completed the flush for the Canadian. This made the river a formality, and Manolea forfeited some chips from the previous hands.
Hand 2
Then, there was a raise and a call on the very same table, and Jussi Nevanlinna shoved the button for around 9,000,000. Ben Morisson reshoved out of the small blind to get the initial raiser and cold-caller out of the way and tabled . Nevanlinna only had and the board ran out queen-high.
When great players are dealt great hands, fireworks usually happen. Thus, it should come as no surprise that Andreas Hoivold and Stephen Chidwick just played a massive pot with two premiums.
All the money went in preflop with Hoivold holding Ace-King suited and Chidwick holding , and with no saving (gr)aces for Hoivold on the board, "stevie444" could scoop up the 20 million chip pot.
Four levels in of Day 3, and we have our first player above 50 million chips. Belgian Thomas Boivin have been busy today, and just managed to pass the mark after a pot against Warren Russell. Boivin made it 500,000 to go preflop, and made the call when Russel reraised to 1,300,000.
Russel continued for 1,100,000 on the flop, but gave it up on the turn after facing a bet of 2,000,000.
These are the seven players still with a golden chip in front of them. Whoever is last to remain in the tournament will win an unbelievable £100,000 just for doing so. Only seven of the final 92 players have that chance.
To put that into context, you could register for the WSOP Main Event, buy an all-inclusive holiday to the Bahamas, put the deposit down on the average house in the United Kingdom and still have enough left over to buy fish and chips twice for everyone here at Dusk Till Dawn.
While the players of the Main Event have been at a 40-minute break, the Super High Rollers are going at it at the televised table of the Dusk Till Dawn. Six players still remain of the 14 entries, and three players will be paid.
There's £116,975 for first, and right now Orpen Kisacikoglu is out in front. It's close, however, and players like Mustapha Kanit and Sam Greenwood will definitely not make it easy for the Turk to rise to the top.
