Boatman Back to Starting Stack

Level 5 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Barny Boatman limped in from under the gun and the player in the hijack raised to 46,000. Action folded back to Boatman who called.

The flop came {4-Spades}{2-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, Boatman checked. His opponent lead out for 64,000 and Boatman shoved for 496,000 in total. His opponent asked for a count and then threw in a chip for the call with the bigger stack.

Barny Boatman: {6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Hijack: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}

Boatman had flopped the nuts with the straight and his opponent held just an overpair.

The rest of the board was completed with the {9-Hearts} on the turn and the {3-Clubs} on the river for Boatman's straight to hold for the double-up.

"I thought he had tens or something when his raise was so small!" Boatman explained when the rest of the table looked on a bit surprised.

Hall Loses to Howard

Level 5 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

The board read {K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Tom Hall bet 70,000 from the big blind and Michael Howard called on the button. Hall tabled {Q-Spades}{8-Diamonds} for the missed straight draw and was beaten by the {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} of Howard who had two pair, jacks and tens to scoop the pot.

Man Doubles Through Cole

Level 5 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Chun Hao Man shoved for 282,000 in total from under the gun and Steven Cole did the same from the hijack with a similar stack. The rest quickly folded their cards.

Chun Hao Man: {A-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Steven Cole: {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}

The board ran out {10-Spades}{4-Spades}{K-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds} to give Man a pair of aces for the double-up on the river.

After paying Man, Cole was left with only 24,000. The hand right after, Cole considered shoving after the under-the-gun player raised to 40,000 but opted to fold.

Lubas Takes Reardon Out

Level 4 : 7,000/14,000, 14,000 ante

Trevor Reardon was all-in for his last 150,000 or so from the big blind and at risk as he was called by Michal Lubas on the button.

Trevor Reardon: {K-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Michal Lubas: {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

The flop came {K-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{Q-Spades} to give Reardon a higher pair.

The turn was the {K-Spades} to give Reardon trips but the {5-Clubs} on the river gave Lubas the full house to eliminate Reardon from the tournament for now.

As the tournament allows players to reenter once per flight, Reardon might be back later on, either in this flight or in one of the other four that are still coming up.

Hulme Holds On and Stays Alive

Level 4 : 7,000/14,000, 14,000 ante

Just before the break, Andrew Hulme shoved for 168,000 from early position. Mohammed Ghollamrezapoue called in mid-position and so did Leo Worthington-Leese in the small blind.

The flop came {8-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and both Worthington-Leese and Ghollamrezapoue checked through to the {6-Diamonds} on the turn. Ghollamrezapoue check-folded to the 225,000 bet of Worthington-Leese.

Andrew Hulme: {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}
Leo Worthington-Leese: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

Hulme was behind with his pocket fours against the pocket queens of Worthington-Leese but the {7-Hearts} on the river gave Hulme the straight he needed to triple up and stay alive.
