Angelou-Konstas Takes From Hills

Level 7 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Andy Hills raised to 55,000 from under the gun and was called Ioannis Angelou-Konstas in the cutoff and Kfir Ivgi in the small blind.

The dealer spread out {4-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} on the flop and Ivgi checked. Hills continued with a bet of 75,000 which only Angelou-Konstas called.

Hills now checked the {7-Spades} on the turn so Angelou-Konstas could now open for 135,000. Hills considered his options and made the call.

The river completed the board with the {2-Hearts}, Hills checked for the last time. Angelou-Konstas took some time to contemplate and then decided to barrel a bet of 600,000 over the line. Hills tanked. After some careful consideration, Hills called. Angelou-Konstas tabled {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} for the flopped full house and Hills quickly mucked his own hand.

Break

Level 6 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

The 102 remaining players have been sent for their second 15-minute break of the day. The late registration and reentry period will be closed after this break.

Green Quintuples Up

Level 6 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Terrance Green just lost a chunk of his stack when his pocket aces got cracked by the pocket queens of Nathan Watson who managed to hit quads to double up.

Green shoved for 145,000 from under the gun. Paul McTaggart called in the hijack. Albert Sapiano did the same on the button. Watson raised to 500,000 in the small blind. Anthony Napolitano also shoved for 487,000 in total in the big blind. McThaggart folded and Sapiano called.

After the dealer and the floor counted out the stacks and pots, Green was playing for a pot of 745,000. After the 145,000 was taken out of Napolitano's stack, Napolitano could triple up for the remainder of his stack which was 342,000 so his side pot was 1,026,000. Watson and Sapiano played for the third pot which now contained 26,000 and could still become more.

Both Watson and Sapiano checked through the whole {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} board.

Terrance Green: {A-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Anthony Napolitano: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Albert Sapiano: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}
Nathan Watson: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}

Green quintupled up with the nut-flush. Napolitano tripled up for most of his stack with the pocket kings. And Sapiano and Watson split the side pot of 26,000.

Vu Survives Somehow

Level 6 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Tony Vu shoved for 87,000 from early position and was called by Tony Haigh in mid-position.

Tony Vu: {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Tony Haigh: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}

"Straight draw!" one of the other players on the table said.

The flop came {5-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} to give Haigh a set of fives and Vu in need of a lot of help. Vu got up from his chair already.

The turn brought them the {6-Clubs} so Vu now needed a seven to survive.

"Seven!" someone commented.

The river was indeed the {7-Diamonds} to give Vu a straight to stay alive and double up.
