Field Size Update

Level 6 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Day 1a has reached a field of 91 unique players and 21 re-entries to put the tournament on track to surpass the $500,000 guarantee by a lot with another three starting days available. So far, there are 72 players remaining and they will play another two and a half levels for Day 1a.

Mojaverian Takes From Romanov

Level 6 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Omid Mojaverian three-bet to 10,100 out of the big blind and earned a call from Igor Romanov in an early position. They headed to the {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop and Mojaverian continued for 5,500, earning a call. On the {3-Hearts} turn, Mojaverian fired a second barrel for 10,700 and Romanov quickly folded.

New Entries in the Field

Level 6 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Selahaddin Bedir has already busted at least twice and re-entered while all other players below are on their first entry on Day 1a.

Hanna Doubles Vinod and Busts Once More

Level 6 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Georges Hanna bet the {k-Spades}{j-Spades}{2-Spades}{4-Hearts} turn for 34,000 and earned a call by Kush Vinod. Hanna then jammed the {6-Spades} river and Vinod snap-called for the 91,500 behind. "Oh you really have it," Hanna gasped and was shown the {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} for the rivered nut flush, which cracked the {9-Spades}{7-Spades} of Hanna.

"I can't fold, my hand is too big," Vinod said in table chat as he doubled for 91,500. Hanna had around 10,000 left after the hand and departed shortly after.

Updated Counts

Korochenskiy Eliminated by Badulin

Level 6 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Anatoly Korochenskiy
Anatoly Korochenskiy

In a battle between two Casino Sochi regulars, Alexey Badulin bet the {j-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop for 20,000 into around 45,000. Anatoly Korochenskiy jammed for what appeared to be 60,000 and Badulin took a minute before making the call.

Anatoly Korochenskiy: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Alexey Badulin: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

The {a-Hearts} turn and {j-Diamonds} river failed to improve Korochenskiy and he was sent to the rail, apparently not happy about the delayed call.

Stefanov Doubles Through Hursoz

Level 5 : 700/1,400, 1,400 ante

Picking up the action on a three-way flop of {6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades}, Tugce Hursoz bet 15,000 out of the small blind. Milen Stefanov then jammed out of the big blind and John Ozdilaver folded. Hursoz asked for a count and tanked for more than three minutes before making the call.

Milen Stefanov: {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Tugce Hursoz: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

The {a-Diamonds} turn and {9-Diamonds} river were both blanks and Stefanov doubled for 99,900.

Isaia Chips Up Through Nanartavicius

Level 5 : 700/1,400, 1,400 ante

On the tail end of a pot between Alessio Isaia and Mantas Nanartavicius, the latter paid off a bet of what appeared to be 31,000. The board showed {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. Isaia tabled {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} for broadway and Nanartavicius had an inferior straight with the {q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}.

Kinzhalov Busts a Second Time

Level 5 : 700/1,400, 1,400 ante

Aleksandr Kinzhalov three-bet jammed for just 16,500 and was called by Muharrem Atsiz.

Both players were on their second entry and it was Kinzhalov who departed once more. His {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} was trailing versus {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and found no help on a board of {j-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Spades}{8-Hearts}{10-Spades}.
