Serhii Biletskyi and Stoyan Obreshkov both busted in the final hand of the night for the 121 remaining players to make it through to Day 2 of the WPT500 Knockout.

The 810 entries on Day 1g added to the prize pool for the tournament to surpass the initial $1,000,000 guarantee as $1,081,000 has been collected already with a turbo flight to take place on Monday, March 22, at 5:05 p.m. GMT.

Bulgaria's Boris Kolev claimed the Day 1g chip lead with over 10 million in chips. He is followed in the counts by Damien Wain, Conor Beresford, Alfred Karlsson, and Dimitrios Sfakianakis in the top five.

partypoker Ambassadors Kristen Bicknell and Joao Simao both made it through too.

Kolev's chip lead tonight also hands him the overall chip lead for Day 2, placing him ahead of Diego Ventura, Aleksandr Shepel, André Marques, and Wain if you look at the top five of the counts.

Day 2 has 324 survivors right now with more to join them once the turbo edition of the starting flight has finished. The first levels of the day will last 16 minutes and increase to 24 minutes after the first 24 levels. The first level of the day will feature a small blind of 35,000, a big blind of 70,000, and a running ante of 8,750.

Play will continue until the final table has been reached and play will resume on Tuesday, March 23 at 8:05 p.m. GMT. This will also signal the start of the partypoker Twitch Streams as they will provide cards-up coverage from the start until the champion can be crowned.

New Zealand's Dylan Rowe finished on top of a field of 2,420 entrants to win the WPT #01 WPT500 at partypoker for $181,545.

The event was one of two $530 buy-in events boasting a $1 million guarantee on the WPT500 schedule with the other being the WPT #13: WPT500 Knockout on March 15-23. The guarantee was smashed with entries generating a huge $1,211,000 prize pool.

It was a huge win for Rowe, who doesn't have many live results to speak of. In fact, according to The Hendon Mob, there has just been one that fit their requirements to be recorded.

Coincidentally, Rowe's only recorded result was in a WPT side event when the tour visited SkyCity Casino in New Zealand in 2019 when he went on to win the NZ$550 No Limit Hold'em - WPT New Zealand Six Max Shot Clock for NZ$16,640 ($10,857).

partypoker Ambassador Kristen Bicknell Excited by "Massive" WPT500 Prizepools

Kristen Bicknell
Kristen Bicknell

One player that was excitedly awaiting the WPT500 last weekend on partypoker was Kristen Bicknell.

Having locked up her seat from one of the daily Day 1 she patiently awaited Day 2 that took place last Monday where she finished in 80th place for $2,016.

WPT500 Comes to partypoker

After the success of the WPT Online Series in May 2020, and the WPT World Online Championships in September 2020, the WPT500 is yet another major festival from the World Poker Tour running on partypoker. Bicknell says that this is all down to the relationship the two brands have built together over the past 12 months.

"I think the relationship that WPT and partypoker has built is absolutely fantastic! I fully support both brands, as they are both leaders in the industry and put on well-run series that cater to every poker player out there."

The festival has two Main Events with multiple Day 1s offering players a slice of a $1,000,000 guarantee each time. Bicknell says she was looking forward to both but told us she preferred the non-PKO event taking place last weekend.

"PKO's are tons of fun and add a different element to the game, but I find that the typical vanilla events feel more like 'true' tournament poker to me."

Bicknell says that she thinks the WPT500 is going to generate some "massive" prize pools.

"With so many day 1's, the WPT500 is huge! The prize pools are going to be massive.

"So far, it seems like we have a mix of famous high stakes pro and low stakes satellite winners, which I think brings the best excitement to the game. It's certainly an event not to miss! I look forward to hopefully making it deep and seeing who else does."
