Natalia Breviglieri's Aces Only Good For a Side Pot

Level 14 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Aces Fail to Hold in a Three-Way Pot
Aces Fail to Hold in a Three-Way Pot

Natalia Breviglieri was just involved in a three-way all-in on a {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop that if she won, she would have been among the chip leaders.

The partypoker Sponsored pro was holding {A-Clubs}{A-Spades} for an overpair. An opponent she had covered was holding a top pair and a flush with {7-Spades}{6-Spades} while an opponent that had her covered was holding a better flush draw with {k-Spades}{j-Spades}.

Breviglieri's advantage in the hand turned sour when a {7-Hearts} appeared on the turn giving one of her opponents a trio of sevens. The {7-Clubs} appeared on the river giving Breviglieri a side pot worth 300,000 which is more than she started Day 2 with. However, this is a small consolation considering the main pot worth 800,000 went to one of her opponents.

Michaelis Finds the Thin Value

Level 14 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Paul Michaelis
Paul Michaelis

With 175,000 chips already in the pot WSOP bracelet holder Paul Michaelis fired out 78,000 with the board reading {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}.

Martin Meciar thought long and hard before ultimately committing the chips, and looked a little stunned when he was shown {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}. The second pair was good enough for Michaelis to rake in the big pot, and the German surged above the 500K mark.

One for the Greek-Dutch Minority

Level 14 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Kacper Pyzara
Kacper Pyzara

The action folded around to the player in cutoff who came in for a raise to 16,500. Kacper Pyzara on the button moved all-in for his remaining 78,500 and the half Greek half Dutch player Athanasios Fergiatakis made the call form the small blind. The big blind and cutoff both got out of the way, and hands were revealed.

Pyzara: {A-Spades}{7-Spades}
Fergiatakis: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The board ran out {4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{A-Clubs} and Fergiatakis scored the knock-out while the Polack will not be replicating his final table finish from the High Roller yesterday. He will have another shot during this festival, however, as the €1,100 8-max tournament with €200,000 guaranteed is kicking off at 4 p.m.

Ala-Kassam and There's a Double

Level 13 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Rehman Kassam
Rehman Kassam

Yehuda Bardugo came into the pot with a raise to 12,000 from early position, and both the button and small blind made the call. Rehman Kassam in the big blind moved all-in for 105,000 total and with action back on Bardugo he reshoved for more than 600,000. The two remaining players wanted none of that, and the pot was heads up.

Kassam: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Bardugo: {Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

Kassam was out in front, and it stayed that way through the {3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop. The {A-Clubs} on the turn sealed the deal, but the dealer still put out the {7-Spades} river for good measure.

Jan-Peter Jachtmann
Jan-Peter Jachtmann

Many players that qualified to Day 2 via an online Day 1 had odd chip count numbers due to no chip runoffs and the general nature of online poker.

Their chip stacks were rounded off. As an example, partypoker Sponsored Pro Jan-Peter Jachtmann ended one of the online opening days with 410,214 and the stack was rounded to 410,000.
