Bergeron Takes Some From Reynolds

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Under the gun, Viktor Blom raised to 800. Craig Bergeron popped it to 2,200 from the cutoff, only to see last year's High Roller Champion William Reynolds make it about 4,700 to go from the big blind. Blom gave it up and action was back on Bergeron.

After about two minutes, Bergeron made it 7,525 total and Reynolds called. They checked down the entire board of {K-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{J-Spades} with Bergeron turning over {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}, good enough to win the pot.

Both have about 31,000 heading into the break.

Go Timo, Go

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

On the board of {K-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}, action checked to Sam Iola. He fired 3,500 into the pot and Brent Hanks was back up after checking. He raised to 8,100 and then action fell on Yevgeniy Timoshenko. He reraised to 17,000 and Iola folded. Hanks made the call.

The river completed the board with the {2-Clubs} and Hanks thought before checking. Timoshenko thought for a long time before finally moving all in. He had Hanks covered for his last 35,350 and Hanks went into the tank. He tanked for several minutes before finally giving it up. Timoshenko moved to over 80,000 in chips with this pot.

Hachem Doubles...Loudly

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

On an {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds} board, we arrived at the table and found Joe Hachem calling 4,150 from Simoes Mesqueu.

The {5-Clubs} hit the turn and Hachem checked. Mesqueu slid out the rest of his stack, putting the decision on Hachem for the rest of his chips. With just about 11,950 behind, Hachem called all in and tabled {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}. Mesqueu tabled {6-Spades}{3-Clubs} and needed help to catch up, finding none from the {4-Diamonds} river card.

However, thats not how Hachem saw it. As soon as the river fell, Hachem let out a loud, "Oooooooooooooooooh" and jumped out of his chair, believing he was rivered. The players at the table informed he won and Hachem was stunned.

"How do I win?" he asked, looking intently at the board. Upon seeing his top pair held, he said "I kept saying in my head no four."

Players in the area clearly poked some fun at Hachem for his misreading of the board. Chino Rheem asked, "Joe, did you use your one time?"

Freddy Deeb also chimed in, "Are you sure you won the Main Event?"

Bottom line, Hachem doubled up and has about 37,000. Amazingly, Mesqueu didn't show any emotion while the entire fracas was going on.

Koon and Gruissem Battle Preflop

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Jason Koon raised to 1,025 and Philipp Gruissem reraised to 2,150. Action folded all the way back around to Koon and he four-bet to 5,500. Gruissem tanked for a bit and then came right back with a five-bet to 12,250. Koon mucked his hand and cut his losses. He was left with 46,600 while Gruissem increased to 65,000.

Eleven Minute Hand, No Showdown

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

We arrived after the flop, but Phil Collins filled us in on some of the details. Yevgeniy Timoshenko limped from early position and next to act, Chino Rheem raised to 900. After another player called in between, Timoshenko three-bet. After Rheem came over the top with a four-bet for another 6,100, Timoshenko put in 7,000 on top with a five-bet.

Rheem called and when the flop came down {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}{7-Spades}, both checked. The {8-Diamonds} hit the turn and after about two minutes Timoshenko went all in for 30,625. Rheem went deep into the tank for several minutes, but in the end he made what looked to be an agonizing fold. As Timoshenko collected the chips and pushed his cards to the dealer, Rheem was willing to pay to see Timoshenko's cards. The price quickly rose from $100 to $300, but Timoshenko declined.

End result? Rheem is down to about 37,000 while Timoshenko has about 68,000.

On the flop of {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}, one player checked and John Racener fired 3,000. Brett Richey made the call and the first player folded.

The {K-Clubs} fell on the turn and Racener turned up the heat with a bet of 7,000. Richey tanked for a minute or two and then gave it up. Racener increased to 85,000 while Richey dropped to 39,600.

Ramos Goes Clubbin'

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

With the monotone board {J-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs} laid out in the middle of the felt, Max Lykov checked and Felipe Ramos checked. James Calderaro fired 2,800 and Lykov called. Ramos also called.

The river completed the board with the {Q-Hearts} and Lykov checked. Ramos fired 4,450 and Calderaro called. Lykov mucked. Ramos tabled the {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}, having flopped the nut flush, and Calderaro folded.

Ramos moved to 73,000 and Calderaro dropped to 30,200.

Buchanan Plays It Safe

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

With the board reading {J-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Diamonds}, Alex Timman bet 1,550 and was raised to 4,900 by Shawn Buchanan. A third player in the hand got out of the way and Timman called.

The turn brought the {J-Hearts} and both players opted to check, delivering the {10-Hearts} on the river. Timman swiftly bet 6,000 and Buchanan called immediately. Timman showed {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for trips, but Buchanan tabled {2-Spades}{2-Hearts} for a full house to win the pot.

Buchanan: 57,000
Timman: 32,000

Levy Climbing

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

On the flop of {A-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Spades}, Clint Coffee checked and Clayton Maguire was next up. He fired 2,625 and Steven Levy called. The others in the hand folded back to Coffee and he made the call.

The turn card was the {2-Hearts} and all three remaining players checked around. The {K-Hearts} was the river card and again, all three players checked.

Levy opened up the {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} and won the pot, moving his stack to 98,000.
