Sands Eliminated After Losing Race

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante
David Sands
David Sands

Dan Heimiller raised from early position and David "Doc" Sands moved all in for 26,300 on the button. Action folded back to Heimiller who made the call.

Heimiller: {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Sands: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

Sands was ahead and racing for his tournament life; however, Sands found himself in a heap of trouble when the flop came down {9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}. Heimiller had hit his ace and taken a commanding lead. The {Q-Spades} river changed nothing and Sands needed a seven on the river to stay alive. The dealer burned and revealed the {6-Hearts}! Close, but no cigar. Sands was eliminated on the hand while Heimiller chipped up to around 180,000.

Reiman Cracks 300k Mark

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante

We're not sure of the action, but we do know that Tyler Reiman, Daniel Alaei, and Matt Affleck had a preflop raising war that resulted in an Affleck fold and 130,000 in the pot. Alaei and Reiman slowed down after the {K-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{K-Spades} flop and checked through the {Q-Spades} turn and {3-Hearts} river. Reiman showed {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} and Alaei simply mucked. Reiman is now up to around 340,000.

Paur Hits the Rail

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante

We didn't catch all the action between Jason Mercier and Taylor Paur, but we can tell you Paur has been eliminated from the tournament. All we know is that Mercier held {A-Hearts}{J-Spades} on a {4-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{K-Spades}{8-Hearts} board. The chip stacks were close, approximately 70,000 each, but Mercier ended up having Paur covered.

"You're Not Scared of Those Diamonds are You?"

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante

An under the gun player raised to 4,000 and Brandon Steven called from the cutoff. Ravi Raghavan then popped it to 14,000 from the big blind and both his opponents came along to the {Q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop.

Raghavan immediately led out for 44,000, leaving himself just 30,100 behind. The UTG player folded instantly while Steven contemplated his options.

"You're not scared of those diamonds are you?" Steven asked. Raghavan remained silent, and Steven eventually folded. Raghavan is up to around 116,000.

Heimiller Folds to Racener's All In Jam

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
John Racener
John Racener

From what we could gather, John Racener opened from middle position and received calls from Dan Heimiller on the button and the two players in the blinds. Racener then bet 6,000 on the {6-Spades}{10-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} flop, Heimiller raised to 16,000, both blinds folded, and Racener made the call.

When the {10-Spades} peeled of on the turn, Racener checked, Heimiller bet, and Racener jammed all in for a total of 57,200. The raise sent Heimiller into the tank for a solid five minutes before he ultimately released his hand. Racener is up to 145,000.

Mercier Holding Steady

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Team PokerStars Pro (USA) Jason Mercier raised to 3,200 from the cutoff and received a call from fellow pro Vanessa Rousso in the big blind. Both players checked the {J-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop and watched as the turn came the {3-Clubs}. At this point, Rousso check-called a bet of 3,800 from Mercier. Both players then checked the {4-Spades} river and Rousso showed {J-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a pair of jacks. Mercier flipped his own {J-Clubs} for a pair of jacks, but his accompanying {7-Clubs} player and he won the small pot. Mercier is holding steady at 75,000.
