The Bill Perkins Show

Bill Perkins (Day 1) is putting on a show.
Bill Perkins (Day 1) is putting on a show.

The always entertaining Bill Perkins opened to 12,000 from under the gun, and the action folded to the 2011 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event champion Elio Fox, who three-bet to 33,000 from the small blind. Perkins called, and the flop fell {3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. Fox led for 28,000, and Perkins immediately called.

The turn was the {5-Diamonds}, and Fox slowed down, checking to Perkins who tossed out nine blue T5,000 chips. Fox tank-called the 45,000-chip bet.

The river was the {q-Hearts}, and Fox checked again. Perkins swiftly fired 50,000, and Fox called. Perkins rolled over {q-Spades}{7-Spades} for two pair, and Fox mucked his hand.

The very next hand, the action folded to Fox, and he opened to 10,000 on the button.

"It doesn't matter what I have," Perkins announced when it folded to him in the big blind. He called without looking at his hand.

Perkins checked as the flop fell {9-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}, and Fox continued for 12,000. Perkins verbally cycled through the hands he hoped to have, and the most tantalizing possibility to him was the {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. He peaked at his two cards, then quickly grabbed a hand full of blue chips, betting 35,000. Fox mucked, and Perkins spiked {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} onto the table.

"The ghosty!" Perkins exclaimed.

Perkins has apparently wanted to play a "ghosty hand" with his neighbor Mike McDonald, and can't stop talking about the "ghosty hand" he won against Fox.

Vichman Doubles Through Vilela

Leonid Vichman was all in and at risk against Diego Vilela moments ago, and Vilela had him dominated.

Showdown
Vichman: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Vilela: {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

The {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} flop was clean, and so too was the {6-Clubs} on the turn, but the {9-Diamonds} slammed on the river, giving Vichman a wining set of nines. Vichman doubled to 175,000 chips, while Vilela sunk to just 80,000.

Team PokerStars Pro Jonathan Duhamel raised to 9,000 before Taylor Paur moved all in for 30,500. Duhamel made the quick call holding the {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. Paur held the {A-Clubs}{7-Hearts}. The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} and Duhamel won the pot. Paur was eliminated as the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event champion moved to 565,000 in chips.

Polychronopoulos Eliminatedopoulos

Athanasios Polychronopoulos
Athanasios Polychronopoulos

Athanasios Polychronopoulos had just gotten super duper crippled down to his last few thousand chips by Nicolas Fierro before putting his last 3,500 in the middle from under the gun. Action then folded to Nick Yunis and he raised to 9,500 from the hijack seat. In the big blind was Chris McClung and he three-bet to 26,000. Yunis took some time and then called.

The flop came down {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and McClung bet 30,000. Yunis called while all Polychronopoulos could do was look on and await his fate.

The turn was the {3-Spades} and McClung fired again, making a bet of 50,000. Yunis gave it up after some time in the tank and McClung was first awarded the side pot. He then turned up the {A-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} to go against the {10-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for Polychronopoulos.

The river completed the board with the {A-Spades} and McClung's two pair was the winner to eliminate Polychronopoulos from the tournament.

"You Had What I Wanted"

Josh Bergman opened to 8,000 from under the gun, and the action folded to Barry Greenstein who moved all in for 36,000 from the cutoff seat. Bergman tank-called, and was dominated.

Showdown
Bergman: {a-Spades}{6-Spades}
Greenstein: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

The {j-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop propelled Bergman into the lead, but the {k-Spades} on the turn kept Greenstein alive. The {2-Clubs} bricked on the river, and Greenstein doubled to more than 70,000 chips.

"As the song says," Greenstein said after the hand. "You had what I wanted."

Stammen's Trip Sixes

When we reached the table, Isaac Haxton and Keven Stammen were heads up with the board reading {3-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. Haxton led for 6,000, and Stammen called. The {6-Clubs} completed the board, and Haxton led again - this time for 12,000 - and Stammen tank-called.

Haxton rolled over {k-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for sixes and fours, but Stammen held {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for trip sixes, and won the pot.
