Even More for Julius

Action folded to Kyle Julius in the small blind and he opened with a raise to 13,000. Sam Chartier made the call from the big blind and the flop came down {K-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}. Julius bet 15,000 and Chartier called.

The turn brought the {8-Hearts} and Julius fired 25,000. Chartier called again.

The river card was the {K-Spades} and paired the board. Julius bet 66,000 and Chartier called.

Julius turned over the {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for a heart flush — the nut flush. Chartier mucked his hand and passed over the amount he owed.

One Down, One Up For Pagano

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Luca Pagano (Day 2)
Luca Pagano (Day 2)

In the hijack, Luca Pagano opened to 14,000, but it was not going to get through. Next door, Yevgeniy Timoshenko shoved in for 90,500 total, and Pagano gave a token soak in the tank for a moment before releasing.

On the next hand, Pagano opened again — 14,500 this time. Galen Hall came along with a smooth call from the button, and it was "head-up to the flop," as Robbie Thompson announced it. The dealer spread out {4-Hearts} {J-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}, and a bet of 18,500 from Pagano was good enough to end the hand right there.

"You smashed that one, huh?" Hall asked after he mucked. Pagano just quietly stacked up, earning a small profit over that two-hand series.

Big Hold with Ace High for Julius

On the {Q-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop, Kyle Julius bet 23,500 before Robin Van Gils raised to 66,000. Julius reraised all in and Van Gils called off for 257,500 total.

Julius tabled the {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs} for ace high after making a move. He did have the best hand, though, as Van Gils held the {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a combo draw.

The turn was the {Q-Spades} and Julius' hand stayed in front. The river completed the board with the {10-Spades} and the ace high for Julius held strong. Van Gils was eliminated while Julius climbed to 850,000 in chips.

The 2010 Champ Falls

We just lost the 2010 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event champion. Harrison Gimbel, who won $2.2 million for winning this event two years ago, was just sent packing by David Assouline.

A player raised to 10,000 and Assouline reraised to 27,000 from the button before Gimbel moved all in for 130,000 from the big blind. The original raiser folded and Assouline called.

Assouline: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}
Gimbel: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}

The board ran out {Q-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{6-Spades} and both players made full houses. Unfortunately for Gimbel, his was worse than Assouline's and he was eliminated.
