Under the Sea

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Ariel Celestino, and Antonio Esfandiari all saw a flop of {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. Grospellier checked, Esfandiari fired 1,325, and only Celestino called.

The turn was the {5-Spades}, Esfandiari led for 3,125, and Celestino moved all in for 15,325. Esfandiari thought for 20 seconds or so, then called.

Esfandiari: {9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Celestino: {7-Spades}{6-Spades}

The river was the {8-Spades}, and Celestino doubled to around 35,000 chips. Esfandiari was knocked down to around 34,500.

Various Chip Counts From The Right Side Of The Room

Big Slick For Glantz

With 32,000 in the pot and a board reading {4-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}, both Faraz Jaka and Matt Glantz checked to a showdown. The latter rolled over {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} for top pair and top kicker, and Jaka simply mucked. With that, Glantz is up to 65,000.

...And Even More Notables

Some More Notables

Here's a list of some new faces in the field, along with Marc-Andre Ladouceur, who opted to reenter.

Chartier Busts Lodden; Shoots Up the Charts

Three players saw a flop of {5-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, including Sam Chartier and Johnny Lodden. A player from the blinds led out for 1,200, Chartier raised to 3,100, and Lodden re-raised to 7,500. Chartier put in a fourth bet, making it 15,500, and Lodden called.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds}, and Chartier moved all in for effectively 27,700. Lodden called.

Chartier: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Lodden: {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

Lodden's pair of jacks had him in the lead, but the {9-Diamonds} completed the board, giving Chartier a straight. Lodden was eliminated, while Chartier is up to 93,000 chips.

Sands Tries the Trap

Brandon Meyers opened to 700 from the cutoff seat, David "Doc" Sands - who finished as runner-up in the $100,000 Super High Roller a few days ago - three-bet to 3,200 from the small blind, and Meyers called.

The flop fell {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{10-Spades}, Sands led out for 4,300, and Meyers called.

The turn was the {5-Clubs} Sands led again - this time for 7,400 - and Meyers again called.

The river was the {6-Spades}, and for the first time, Sands checked. Meyers quickly checked behind. Sands turned over {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} for an ace-high flush, and Meyers went to table his hand before realizing that Sands didn't have just ace-high.

Meyers later said that he had two jacks.

Sands couldn't pull off the trap this time, but he's still above the starting stack.
