Kassela Gets Shorter

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Frank Kassela gave up a pot against Ajay Chabra and was then spotted thinking about the hand for several minutes, staring away from the table.

One table over, Griffin Benger and Marius Gierse were involved in a battle of the blinds. The former bet the river of {Q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts} for 75,000, Gierse reluctantly folded.

Leckey Eliminated on Bubble

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Paul Leckey-Bubble
Paul Leckey-Bubble

Paul Leckey was all in from middle position for about 235,000 and was at risk against neighbor Tianle Wang. Leckey put in all his money on a four-bet shove. After action was complete at all the other tables, they showed their cards.

Paul Leckey: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Tianle Wang: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

Despite loud calls for a king from the British rail, the board ran {3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{10-Spades}{5-Clubs}{6-Spades} and Leckey was eliminated on the bubble.

In the aftermath of the hand, however, it was announced that Leckey did earn an EPT Monte Carlo package for his efforts.

Grafton is on His Way

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Sam Grafton
Sam Grafton

Sam Grafton managed to survive the bubble with just a few big blinds and once it burst, he was all in for around 40,000. Tomas Jozonis called directly to his left and the cards were on their backs.

Tomas Jozonis: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}
Sam Grafton: {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Jozonis was in a dominating position but the flop of {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Spades} gave Grafton the lead. However, the {a-Diamonds} on the turn flipped the script and the {q-Diamonds} on the river sealed Grafton's fate as he wish his tablemates good luck.

Badziakouski Folds to River Jam

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

In what looked like a three-bet pot, Samuel Tsehai bet 77,000 on a {2-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{q-Clubs} flop from the small blind and Mikita Badziakouski called on the button. The turn was a {7-Hearts} and Tsehai barreled for 160,000 more. Badziakouski again called. On the {5-Spades} river, Tsehai used a time bank and then jammed.

It was 415,000 more effective, and Badziakouski exited his seat briefly, thought awhile, and folded.

At a neighboring table, Russell Crane sent Sean Winter packing with {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs} against {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}, as the board ran out {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{k-Spades}. Winter sent over his 100,000 or so.

Knoppers Among the Big Stacks

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Several racks full of chips arrived over on table one and it was Dutchman Luigi Knoppers who carried them over. Knoppers then stacked them properly for more than 1.4 million and was kind enough to provide the details.

According to Knoppers, he raised the cutoff to 26,000 with {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and the player on the button three-bet to 75,000, Knoppers called. On the {Q-}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop, Knoppers check-raised from 70,000 to 190,000 and called the shove of his opponent to get shown {J-}{9-}. Another heart followed on the turn to lock up the big pot for Knoppers.
