Sheaves Wins One; Pahuja Caught Bluffing

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Warren Sheaves had won a Platinum Pass for the trip to the Bahamas after coming up with a chess and poker game combo, and cashed for $35,000. Sheaves invested some of the winnings to enter the $10,300 Main Event and started Day 1b next to Leo Margets.

Just now, Sheaves bet the {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} river for 6,500. His sole remaining opponent Rodrigo Marques Carmo eventually folded.

At the same time one table over, Vinny Pahuja battled with Chris Furbert and bet the {6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts} turn for 3,500 when checked to him. Furbert called and checked again the {Q-Diamonds} on the river. Pahuja now bet 5,500 and Furbert reluctantly called.

"Just the queen, straight is good," Pahuja said and flashed the {Q-Clubs}. Furbert didn't have a straight, but {3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for two pair was good enough to win the pot.

"Good to See You Go"

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

On the {J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop, Scott Stewart checked and called a bet of 1,400 by Maurice Costigan before the {Q-Hearts} turn and {4-Diamonds} river were checked down. Costigan showed {J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and that won the pot.

Right after, the next big blind was on the move and that happened to be Davidi Kitai. Barry Greenstein said "good to see you go" with a grin on the face, and Kitai headed to a new table with a decent stack of 48,000.

Anderson Takes a Hit

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Joining the action on the {J-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{10-Clubs} turn, Calvin Anderson bet 2,200 and was called by Jorge Abilio Martinez in the cutoff. The {5-Spades} rolled off on the river and Anderson now bet 3,800.

Martinez was deep in the think tank and eventually called to see Anderson turn over {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}. Martinez had that beat with {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and sent Anderson to around half the starting stack.

Jiang Facing Pressure

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

The board read {J-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{J-Hearts} and Sosia Jang was first to act. She bet 900, Mike Vesia raised to 4,200 on the button, and Jiang called. The board double-paired on the {4-Spades} river and Jiang check-folded to a 13,000 bet after two minutes of thought.
