Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Jake Cody
Jake Cody

The live stream just switched over to one of the outer tables and showed the all in of Jake Cody near the end of level one, who ended up at risk preflop with {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} against the {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} of Joao Simao.

There was no help on the board and the pot was shipped over to Simao, who remains one of the biggest stacks early on Day 2.

Kharkov Extends His Lead

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Dragos Trofimov opened to 4,500 from the hijack. Alexander Kharkov, in the big blind, called.

A flop reading {j-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades} was dealt. Kharkov bet 5,000. Trofimov called.

The dealer burned and turned the {5-Hearts}. Kharkov continued with another bet of 7,000. Trofimov called again.

The {4-Hearts} filled up the river. Kharkov threw in 15,000. Trofimov tank-called. Kharkov showed {k-Spades}{j-Spades} for fours full of jacks and Trofimov sent his hand to the muck.

High Rollers Take on the Portuguese

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Steffen Sontheimer
Steffen Sontheimer

Matthias Eibinger raised to 5,500, Manuel Ruivo three-bet to 16,500 from the blinds and Eibinger called. The flop was {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and Ruivo check-called 13,000 from Eibinger. On the {6-Spades} turn, Ruivo checked, Eibinger shoved for 45,500, and Ruvio called after the clock got called on him.

Matthias Eibinger: {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Manuel Ruivo: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}

Ruivo could only win with a jack but caught the {4-Hearts} instead and had to fork over a decent part of his stack.

At the same time at another table, Steffen Sontheimer and Diogo Veiga got their stacks in the middle on a {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop. Veiga was all in for a little over 50,000 and trailing with {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} against Sontheimer's {10-Spades}{9-Spades}.

The {Q-Diamonds} turn and {5-Diamonds} river kept the aces second best, scoring Sontheimer a knockout.

Frangoulidis Jams Into Gofman

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

A raise to 20,000 was in front of Aleksandr Gofman with the flop showing {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and James Frangoulidis then moved all in for a total of 87,000. Gofman gave it some thought and folded.

"I would have done the same," Noah Schwartz said and Gofman said "I would have called you."

Frangoulis chimed in "you would have called him but not me? Come on," while dragging in the pot.

"Lucky Me!"

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Dragos Trofimov (at the PSPC)
Dragos Trofimov (at the PSPC)

Chipleader Alexander Kharkov opened to 5,000 in early position, Dragos Trofimov three-bet to 22,000 from the small blind, Jacques Der Megreditchian four-bet shoved 92,000 from the big blind and Kharkov went in the tank. He folded after a minute of thought.

Trofimov needed no time to come to a decision and stuck calling chips in within a heartbeat.

Jacques Der Megreditchian: {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}
Dragos Trofimov: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}

The dealer fanned out {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{7-Clubs} to pair up Trofimov and eliminate Der Megreditchian. Kharkov watched it unfold with a sour look on his face and indicated to Trofimov he folded a big hand with a club in it.

"Lucky me!" the Platinum Pass winner laughed and Kharkov could muster a smile as well.

Zamani More Than Doubles

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Pablo Melogno raised to 4,500 in the cutoff and Martin Zamani shoved the button for 51,000. Zachary Donovan called in the small blind for the last 16,000 and Melogno asked for a count, then called with the biggest stack of the trio.

Zachary Donovan: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
Martin Zamani: {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}
Pablo Melogno: {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}

"I am a big favorite," Zamani had joked before the cards were tabled and another player at the table replied, "make it a sweat." Indeed, the flop of {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Hearts} brought a gutshot for the two ace-queens. However, the {2-Hearts} turn and {5-Spades} river were blanks and Donovan was eliminated, Zamani more than doubled.
