Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Thomas Muehloecker opened to 800 from the button before Axel Hallay made it 3,300 to go from the big blind. Muehloecker responded with a four-bet to 7,200 and Hallay called.

No Call for Lafleur

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Heads-up to the {q-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop, Sammy Lafleur checked and subsequently check-raised to 1,700 when Brian Kim bet 500. The call by Kim led to the {7-Hearts} turn on which Lafleur bet 1,700 once more and received a call.

On the {10-Clubs} river, Lafleur bet 9,200 with one T-500 chip behind. Kim tanked for nearly three minutes and then folded with the superior stack.

Stefan Huber opened to 700 from the cutoff and was called by Jamie Sequeira and Pedro Garagnani from the blinds.

Chamas Among the Shorter Stacks

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Rayan Chamas was moved tables and only had a fraction of the starting stack left when he arrived. Out of the big blind, he faced a button raise to 600 by Phillip Nagy and called, then joked "I need some chips" to which Nagy replied "let's see if I can help you out with that".

The {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop was checked by Chamas, who then called a bet of 700. Chamas checked again the {2-Diamonds} turn and folded when Nagy bet 2,000. The Canadian, known under the moniker of "Beriuzy" has dropped below 5,000 and will have to make a move very soon or subsequently re-enter.

Shchekutov Continues to Chip Up

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

There was 3,200 in the pot heading to the turn. Rayan Chamas was in the cutoff against Aleksei Shchekutov in the big blind.

The board read {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{10-Hearts} and Shchekutov bet 2,300 before Chamas raised to 5,000. Shchekutov called.

Action checked through on the {a-Spades} river and Shchekutov showed {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts} for trips to take down the pot as Chamas mucked.

Phil Nagy said "It's one thing to keep them honest, it's another thing when they're honest every damn time." Meanwhile Kitty Kuo joined the table.

Jared “BeamDoctorPoker” Halter Streams PokerStars Platinum Pass Invitational Victory

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante
Jared Halter
Jared Halter

The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) is happening now, and later this month the PokerStars Players NLH Hold’em Championship (PSPC) will take place January 30-February 3. One man who will be heading to the Bahamas is 41-year-old Jared “BeamDoctorPoker” Halter, who won a Platinum Pass on PokerStars Michigan.

“I won a PSPC Platinum Pass on Wednesday, November 9,” Halter told PokerNews. “I had just returned from Vegas that morning on a red eye flight and slept for four hours on a friend’s couch before I drove home for two hours. To be honest, I was very fortunate to win because I had a very rough 72 hours. Some things happened in Vegas that caused me to have anxiety attacks for the first time in my life and I ended up only sleeping about five hours total in the previous 48.”

He continued: “I was exhausted and when the MTT started, I said to myself, it will take a miracle for me to win. Funny enough, I mis-clicked two different times early in the tourney and called three-bets with hands like 85o (I did not win those hands). I streamed the tourney, and only single tabled it, because of how tired and ungrounded I felt from the previous time. During the stream, I talked about how exhausted I was and how there was almost zero chance I win. Of course, as we know, the universe had a different plan.”

No Call for Short Stack Brown

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Manig Loeser raised to 600 on the button and then faced the three-bet shove of Thomas Brown for the last 5,400, which he instantly cut out nicely so the dealer didn't have to count. Loeser went into the tank and Brown started to engage in some table chat.

Ultimately, Loeser folded and mentioned to have had king-jack, to which Brown showed his {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. "Can I keep them?" Brown asked the dealer but that request was denied.

Kornuth Takes From Ryan

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante
Chance Kornuth
Chance Kornuth

A decent-sized pot was brewing on Table 12, with 11,700 in the middle on the {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts} board.

Laurence Ryan bet 6,000 from the cutoff and was called by Chance Kornuth from the button.

On the {10-Diamonds} river, Ryan sized up to 16,000 and Kornuth called.

Ryan quickly turned over his {a-}{10-} for aces and tens but conceded the pot after Kornuth exposed his {9-}{7-} for trip nines.

"That's two in a row," quipped Kornuth which got a chuckle out of Ryan.
