Vogelsang Doubles Through Neves

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Christoph Vogelsang
Christoph Vogelsang

Christoph Vogelsang moved all-in from middle position and was at risk when Pedro Neves shoved his bigger stack on the button. Neves had just doubled up and was flipping with Vogelsang.

Christoph Vogelsang: {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
Pedro Neves: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Neves was looking for big cards, but the {5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop suited Vogelsang just fine. The {5-Clubs} turn changed nothing while the {6-Clubs} river saw Vogelsang complete a full house to double his stack.

The next hand at the table saw Seth Davies get his short stack in before hitting the rail.

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Ognyan Dimov
Ognyan Dimov

Action was three-ways with 22,500 in the pot. Ignacio Moron was in middle position against Elio Fox on the button and Day 1 chip leader Ognyan Dimov in the big blind.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and action checked to Moron who bet 11,000. Both Fox and Dimov called.

The {9-Diamonds} was the turn and Dimov led for 7,000. Only Fox called.

The river came the {8-Diamonds} and Dimov checked. Fox slide in a bet of 70,000 and Dimov snap-called. Fox tabled {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a missed flush draw while Dimov had trips when he showed {10-Hearts}{9-Spades} to take down a big pot.

Wilson Puts Neves To The Test

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

In a heads-up pot with just over 20,000 in the middle on a flop showing {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, Pedro Neves bet out 6,500 from under the gun and Brock Wilson made the call in the hijack.

On the {3-Diamonds} turn, Neves kept up the aggression with a bet of 22,000, and again Wilson came along. The {6-Spades} completed the board and Neves announced a sizing of 42,000. Wilson asked to see Neves' remaining stack and soon after moved all in, covering the 50,000 behind for Neves. After a few seconds, Neves let his hand go and the pot was sent to Wilson.

Neves Wins a Flip

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Mario Navarro raised to 6,000 from early position and called when Pedro Neves moved all-in.

Pedro Neves: {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Mario Navarro: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

Neves was flipping for his tournament life and the {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop brought Navarro additional outs. The {8-Spades} turn and {7-Spades} river were bricks, giving Neves the double up.

PN Pod Mori Eskandani
PN Pod Mori Eskandani

In the latest PokerNews Podcast episode of 2023, Chad Holloway and Connor Richards handle things while Jesse Fullen is in Australia. They discuss Mike Postle’s sudden reappearance in the poker world after making a final table at the Million Dollar Heater at Beau Rivage in Mississippi, while also talking about the slowroll and needle that accompanied his bust out.

They try to balance that story with a heart-warming one where Johnnie “Johnnie Vibes” Moreno put a bartender into the MSPT Sycuan Main Event, with the recreational player going on to finish in fourth place for $40,000!

Other stories discussed include WSOP.com Player of the Years, Lon McEachern and Daniel Lowery winning WSOP Circuit gold rings, and early winners from the PokerGO Cup.

Speaking of which, PokerGO’s Mori Eskandani joins the show as this week’s guest. The Poker Hall of Famer talks 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) preparations, who came close to challenging Jason Koon on High Stakes Duel III (HSD), plus when we can expect the next HSD match to take place. He also discussed new developments to this year’s PokerGO Tour (PGT) and shared memories from the days when the Mirage was the hot spot for poker in Vegas.

Rodger Johnson raised to 6,500 from under the gun and was called by Noah Schwartz in early position and Boris Kolev in the hijack.
