Nick Pupillo Seeks Redemption, 7-Time Bracelet Winner Josh Arieh in Contention in $1,100 H.O.R.S.E. Championship
PokerNews coverage of the 2025 Chainsaw Mixed Series of Poker (CMSOP) in Las Vegas continues today with Day 2 of the $1,100 T.O.R.S.E. Championship, an event that drew 54 runners for a prize pool of $52,920.
Just nine players made it to Day 2, which kicks off at noon local time, and leading the way is Canada's Thomas Taylor with a stack of 482,500.
Also in contention is Nick Pupillo, who is looking for his second consecutive final table after finishing fifth in yesterday's $1,100 Omaha 8 or Better Championship for $4,229, while the remaining field also includes seven-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner and future Poker Hall of Famer Josh Arieh.
Also among the nine players who bagged are Canada's Patrick Hu-A-Kam and Americans Dean Joe, Damjan Radanov, Adam Kipnis and Carol Anderson.
Action will resume with 25:54 left in Level 16 with blinds of 4,000/8,000 with a 2,000 ante and betting limits of 8,000-16,000.

There are nine spots paid in the event, meaning the money bubble is already behind us and all returning players are guaranteed a minimum payout of $2,307. Meanwhile, a top prize of $16,479 is reserved for the eventual winner, as is the coveted Chainsaw trophy.

The H.O.R.S.E. championship will consist of orbits of Limit Hold'em, Omaha 8 or Better, Razz, Seven Card Stud and Stud 8 or Better. Some of those games may be unfamiliar to some readers, but that isn't the case for the remaining players. Arieh's most recent live bracelet, for example, came from a victory in the 2023 $25,000 High Roller H.O.R.S.E., which also earned the "Team Lucky" member $711.313.
