Sperber on "A Bit of a Heater"

Level 3 : 100/300, 0 ante

Shawn Sperber limped in under the gun, and he was called by Brian Henningson in the hijack before Norbert Rosario raised it up to 1,000 from the button. Both blinds called before Sperber sent 4 white chips into the middle, making it 4,300 to go.

The raise was enough to clear off all the other players, and Sperber showed pocket queens to the table as he collected the pot. "I'm on a bit of a heater," he said with a smile, stacking up a double start stack.

Pawlak Has Heart

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Farrel Rempel limped into the pot from under the gun, and Paul Weenusk called from his left. Peter Pawlak made it 800 to go from late-middle, and saw calls from the big blind, as well as Rempel and Weenusk.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and action checked to Pawlak who fired out a bet of 1,600. Rempel was the only caller to see the {9-Hearts} on the turn. Action checked around, and the river was {7-Diamonds}.

Rempel led out for 1,600, but Pawlak elected to come over top to 5,000. After a few seconds to consider the spot, Rempel mucked his hand while showing the {k-Diamonds}.
