Sau Cracks Lee’s Cowboys: Lee Survives

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

We were nearly down to nine players on two separate occasions, but both time the at-risk player caught the exact cards they needed to survive. Both players in question were involved in both hands and here’s how they unfolded:

In the first action folded around to Ho Yin Sau on the button and he moved all-in for 19,900. Wai Kiat Lee made a quick call from the small blind and big blind Wei Tso bowed out and the cards were turned over.

Ho Yin Sau: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}
Wai Kiat Lee: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

Sau was in trouble but the {a-Hearts}{5-Spades}{8-Spades} flop was exactly what the doctor ordered. Lee was left drawing to the deck’s two remaining kings, that was until the {4-Spades} gave Sau the flush and locked in the double-up.

Lee was left with a paltry 4,000, which was all-in the next hand after Sau min-raised from under-the-gun. Joey Wong and Nick Wong both called as well and the action went four-way to a flop of {q-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{7-Hearts}.

Wong, Wong and Sau checked the {4-Spades} turn and while both Wong’s checked the {4-Clubs} river Sau decided to bet 5,000 into the 1,200 side pot. Joey Wong made the call and Nick Wong folded. Sau had {a-Spades}{7-Spades}, which was enough to win the side pot when Wong mucked, but Lee had {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} for a full house and climbed back up to 17,500.
