The 79 remaining Main Event players are on their first 15-minute break of the day.
The field has thinned significantly, with 36 players all hitting the showers early, so there has been some player shuffling. One of the more recent table move saw Edwin Gerard take his place over on table 20, just in time to win a nice pot.
Gerard came in for his first hand at his new table from the big blind, defending against a Hsin Hui Peng open for 5,500. Peng continuation bet the flop after a Gerard check, only to see the US player pull out a check-raise, which after some contemplation Peng called.
The turn saw Gerard jam for an effective 52,200 as this was all that Peng had behind, and the latter eventually decided to let it go.

Both Fu Bang Huang and I-Cheng Lin have become two of the more recent casualties, with Lin departing at the hands of Hong Kong's Tsz Fai Tong with the pair getting all the chips in pre-flop.
I-Cheng Lin:
Tsz Fai Tong:
Both players spiked an ace on the flop, and while Lin was in front with the better kicker, Tong spiked a jack on the river to make two pair and send Lin crashing out of the tournament.

Chia Ming Chen's tournament has come to a close, with Hao Kai Wu the closer after the two battled in a big pot. It was Chen who was the initial raiser, making it 6,000 to go preflop, with Wu calling in position to take play heads-up to a flop of .
Chen continuation bet the flop for another 6,000, with Wu making the call once more to bring the pair to the turn, which is where the fireworks went off. Chen fired a second barrel, this time for 27,000, Wu re-raised to 55,000, Chen shoved and was quickly called.
Chia Ming Chen:
Hao Kai Wu:
Wu's flopped set of threes left Chen drawing extremely thin, and the river was not the paint card he needed to survive. Chen headed for the exit and Wu stacked up to 205,000.

Ray Chiu has become one of the most recent eliminations, giving us his exit hand straight from the horse's mouth. It was Chiu who was the instigator, making it 5,000 to go from the cutoff with the Philippines David Erquiaga three-betting to 18,000 from the small blind.
Action folded back to Chiu who four-bet to 35,500 and Erquiaga made the call to swell the pot to 75,000. The flop saw checks from both players, with Erquiaga taking a stab for 25,000 on the turn, which Chiu called.
The river was the spark that ignited the action, pairing the board and completing a possible heart flush, and Erquiaga jammed. Chiu eventually made the call with , and was stunned to discover that Erquiaga had been getting frisky preflop with and backed into the boat, which was good for a huge pot. Erquiaga climbs to 244,500 while Chiu hit the rail.

While Ben Andrews came in with a stack of 120,000 or so at the start of the level, the Brit had endured a torrid time of it at the tables and had dropped down to 40,400. However, it appears that Andrew's may have turned the tides of fortune, though the halt of his slump came at the expense of Germany's Max Menzel.
It was Justin Chu who instigated the action with an open to 4,500 from middle position, with Menzel making the call from one seat over in the cutoff. Action folded around to Andrews, who jammed on the button and action was back on Chu, who tanked for close to 30-seconds before deciding to let it go.
Menzel however, seemed on the fence and flip-flopped between folding and calling, eventually deciding on the latter and both players flipped over their hands.
Max Menzel:
Ben Andrews:
Andrews had found the pocket rockets at the perfect time and Menzel could only shake his head sadly as the runout saw the pot shipped the Brit's way.
James Chen has become one of the early casualties, unable to get anything going with his short-stack, with the field down to 90 players.

A big pot was brewing between Hong Kong's Tung Wing Wong and the USA's Edwin Gerard, with action picked up on a flop of with around 14,000 already in the pot.
Sitting in middle position, Wong was first to act and fired for 4,500 and Gerard mulled it over, eventually sliding in the call to bring both players to the turn, which saw no betting.
The river saw Wong reach for chips and bet 15,500, leaving himself 24,400 behind. Gerard did not take too long to make the call, and while his was ahead of Wong's pre-flop, the resulting runout was an anti-climatic chop.

Table 17 looks set to be an action-packed one, with a lot of deep stacks. Two of these did battle in an interesting hand with Justin Chu opening the action with a middle position raise to 4,500, with another deep-stack player, Jae Wook Shin making the call on the button. Sparrow Cheung then three-bet from the small blind to the tune of 22,000 and the action folded back around to Chu.
The Taiwanese player took a little time before moving all-in for over 140,000 and action was back on Shin, who did not take too long to fold and it was back on Cheung. This is where it got interesting, with Cheung reaching into his pocket and consulting his Tamagotchi pet on the next best course of action. After a couple of chirpy interactions, it appeared that Tamagotchi said call, as Cheung slapped down a stack of yellow 1k chips and the cards were revealed.
Sparrow Chueng:
Justin Chu:
The gave Cheung some runner, runner potential, but the turn confirmed a rather anti-climatic chop and both Chung and Chu divvied up the blinds, ante and Shin's call between them.

Lin Yu Sheng opened the action with a raise to 4,500 and I-Cheng Lin moved all-in for ~60,000 two seats over. The short-stacked Du-Ming Tsai called off his last 19,800 on the button, Sheng folded and Lin made the call.
Du-Ming Tsai:
I-Cheng Lin:
Tsai was in great shape for a double and managed to fade an ace on the runout to climb to 45,000 in chips, while Lin dropped to 47,000.
