An Interesting Fold

There was much talk on the break about a fold made by Kenny Ng just before the break. Hyo Sun "Jenny" Son moved all in from the small blind for a total of 58,000, which would cost Kenny 38,000 to call. Kenny has 1.6mil in chips and the talk of the Poker Room is all about how he could make that fold, and what his motivation was in doing so. With Jenny's 58,000, the antes (12,000) and his already invested 20,000 big blind, Kenny was getting about 3-1 on his call with a chance to bust a player in the process. Very interesting......

The Aussie Big Game

Fear the Croc!
Fear the Croc!
Over at the high limit area in the poker room, there's a sick 100/100 blinds Pot-Limit Omaha table featuring Joe Hachem, Jeff Lisandro, Tony G, Tino Lechich, Van Marcus, Billy the Croc, Gary Benson, Jason Gray, and Masaki Kagawa. For a while, they were playing with five different big blinds per hand!

With chip leaders Jordan Lamberg and Kenny Ng seated next to each other, there were bound to be fireworks.

Lamberg raised to 65,000 from middle position, Ng re-raised to 150,000 from the button and Lamberg made the call. The flop was {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. Lamberg checked, Ng bet 200,000 and Lamberg folded. Ng showed the {A-Diamonds} as he dragged the 300,000 pot.

With the board reading {10-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts} on the turn, Con Angelakis moved all in for over 500,000 and Jordan Lamberg made the call. Lamberg turned up {5-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a pair and a flush draw while Angelakis showed {K-Spades}{J-Spades} for king high. The river was the {7-Diamonds} and Angelakis was eliminated, while Lamberg's stack shot up to 1,800,000. He's our new chip leader.

Karsten Kobbing Eliminated in 14th Place ($14,380)

Another battle of the blinds. Kenny Ng raised 75,000 from the small blind. Karsten Kobbing called from his big blind. The flop was {5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. Ng shoved all in for all of his chips. Kobbing called for his last 450,000.

Ng: {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Kobbing: {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}

Ng was ahead with Jacks, but Kobbing flopped an open-ended straight draw. The turn was the {J-Clubs} and Ng picked up a set. Kobbing still had outs to a straight. The river was the {3-Hearts}. Ng won with a full house and he busted Kobbing in 14th place. Ng increased his stack to over 1.6 million. He's the new chipleader.

Steven Bouya Eliminated in 15th Place ($14,380)

Steven Bouya - 15th Place

It was folded around to the blinds. Steven Bouya limped from his small blind. Jordan Lamberg raised 55,000. Bouya called. The flop was {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Bouya pulled out a stack of yellow chips and bet 100K. Lamberg thought for about ten seconds and moved all in for over 500,000. Bouya went into the tank before he eventually called. Lamberg had him covered.

Bouya: {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Lamberg: {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}

Bouya was ahead with second pair. Lamberg needed help. The turn was the {10-Clubs} and the river was the {K-Diamonds}. Lamberg won the pot with two pair, kings up, and sent Bouya to the rail in 15th place. That hand pushed Lamberg past the 1 million chip mark, as he became the first player in the tournament to achieve that milestone.

Down to 14.
