Pickering Looking Dangerous

Jamie Pickering
Jamie Pickering
On a flop of {J-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} Jamie Pickering bet the pot and Aytunc Tezay made the call for his tournament life.

The river landed the {7-Clubs} and Pickering's {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{10-Spades} for a set of eights was good to take the pot as Tezay mucked his cards and headed for the exit.

Pickering, who is a formiddable PLO player with a WSOP 2nd place finish to his credit, is now with the chip leaders on 36,500 chips but reportedly needs to finish well into the prizes in order to recoop the amount spent on his rebuys!

Bhasin Eliminates Vos and Portaro

Roy Bhasin has just claimed two huge scalps with the chips going all in on a flop of {3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{J-Hearts}.

Bhasin held {K-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and was up against the {8-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{K-Spades}{J-?} of Mark Vos and the {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{6-Spades} of Bruno Portaro.

The turn was the {6-Diamonds} to give Portaro a full house, but the {5-Clubs} on the river gave Bhasin a bigger boat to knock out two of Australia's heavyweights.

"How can you even play that?!?" exclaimed Portaro as he and Vos exited, leaving Bhasin to stack up 30,000 chips.

Mark Vos Enjoying Himself At The Table
A 5/10 Pot Limit Omaha cash game has just opened up and features Ivan Tan and Nathaneal Seet who have just arrived in town following the APPT Auckland event, and they have been joined by the recently eliminated Mark Vos, Michael Guttman and Graeme Putt!

Van Hits the Gas

Van Marcus has just doubled up through Joe Cabret to move to 14,000 in chips.

All of the money went in on a {10-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} flop and at the showdown, the following cards were tabled:

Marcus: {A-Spades} {K-Spades} {J-Clubs} {6-Diamonds}
Cabret: {10-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {6-Spades} {Q-Spades}

The {A-Diamonds} then fell on the turn giving Marcus the nut straight, and the {J-Diamonds} on the river was inconsequential.

Cabret dropped to 3,200 in the loss.
