Demetriou Done

Demetriou: eliminated
Demetriou: eliminated
Andrew Demetriou moved his last of his short stack into the middle with {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}, only to be called down by Nick Ziogos who had {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}.

The board ran out {Q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, sending Demetriou packing. Billy Seri has now taken his place on table 31.

Karamalikis Crunched

Karamalikis: if at first you don't succeed ... repechage!
Karamalikis: if at first you don't succeed ... repechage!
Jonathan 'xMONSTERxDONGx' Karamalikis has been eliminated and almost certain to join those who will be repechaging tomorrow after a monster pot that left him severely crippled.

Rinaldo Piastrino raised it up from early position preflop to 1,000, only to see Karamalikis reraise to 2,500. Another opponent in late position made the call, but Piastrino reraised all-in for 11,325. Karamalikis made the call, having him barely covered with 11,775 in his stack.

Piastrino: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Karamalikis: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

The flop of {10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs} saw Karamalikis fall further behind in the race, but the {Q-Clubs} on the turn gave him some hope. It wasn't to be, as the river bricked out {10-Spades}.

Karamalikis was left with just 850 in chips. He was eliminated a short time later.

Levy Is (Almost) Dry

Levy: needs to regroup
Levy: needs to regroup
Grant Levy has had a tough start to today's Main Event flight and this hand was no exception.

Levy raised it up preflop to 800 only to see Steve Bouya re-raise to 2,800. Levy made the call and they went heads up to a flop that read {3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}.

Levy check-called Bouya's bet of 3,800, then checked to him on the turn of the {Q-Hearts}. Bouya fired out two yellow chips for a bet of 10,000. Levy sighed and threw his cards into the muck; Bouya showed {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} for nothing but air.

"You were still good though," muttered Levy. He's down to 10,500 while Bouya moves on up to 25,500.

Cendron Uses His Imagination

With four limpers in the pot, Daniel Neilson tried to buy the button with a raise to 1,500. It didn't work as three of the limpers made the call including Bill Jordanou and Adriano Cendron.

The flop landed {9-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Spades} and the action was quickly checked through to see the {5-Diamonds} fall on the turn.

Jordanou checked to a middle position player who tested the waters with a bet of 500. Cendron was next to speak and he announced a raise to 4,500. Neilson and Jordanou quickly released as the MP-player thought for a few moments before also giving it up.

Cendron then decided that a bluff is not a bluff unless you show it, as he flashed {8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for nothing but pure imagination. He's back up to 20,000 chips.

Doria Done

[Removed:415] has been sent to the rail after running his {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} into the pocket aces of Jim Mastorakos.

Doria was short-stacked so we believe the chips were in preflop as the board ran out {4-Spades}{J-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}.

Demetriou Stacked

Andrew Demetriou has just had some chips taken off him after some heavy preflop action and ending up with his chips in the middle against Peter Mordaunt.

Mordaunt turned up {K-Spades}{J-Spades} but was way behind the pocket aces of Demetriou. Demetriou would keep the lead on the flop and turn of {7-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{10-Spades}, but had to dodge a mountain of outs in order to eliminate Mordaunt.

The river {Q-Diamonds} was one of those outs.

"That's just (expletive) sick!" cried Demetriou as the pot was shipped to Mordaunt. He has every reason to cry poor - he's down to around 8,500 in chips.

"Jonno, Swap These Two Tables!"

Brkovic: could go bananas on table 30
Brkovic: could go bananas on table 30
Despite having 2008 Crown Poker Player of the Year Andrew Demetriou and online young gun Dean 'dinjho' Nyberg, being seated at the feature table, we think table 30 should get a more prominent position.

We've seen lot of action between the big names of Sammy Khouiss, Jie Gao, Leo Boxell and Karl Krautschneider, and have lost Rayan Nathan and defending champion Nali Kaselias.

However we could see more fireworks as Jai Kemp and Aleks 'Banana Thief' Brkovic have been moved there as well! We'll keep our eyes peeled (no pun intended, Aleks).
