Van Zadelhoff Bluffs Teltscher

KaleGozer • Level 7: 300-600, 100 ante

With four players to a {6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop, both blinds checked to Steven van Zadelhoff. From the cutoff, the Dutchman continued with a bet of 1,600. Mark Teltscher raised to 4,500 on the button, getting both blinds out of the way.

Van Zadelhoff called and checked the {A-Spades} turn to Teltscher, who checked behind. On the {10-Hearts} river, Van Zadelhoff moved in within two seconds, covering Teltscher's remaining stack of 18,700.

The American folded after some thought, and Van Zadelhoff immediately showed {9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for the busted double belly buster straight draw.

Kanit Hands Out a Dub

mnuwwarah • Level 7: 300-600, 100 ante

Mustapha Kanit three-bet to 2,600 from second position after someone opened for a min-raise. Action folded to a short-stacked player in middle position, who jammed for 5,500. Kanit was the only taker.

Kanit: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Opponent: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

The Italian watched a jack flop to dim his hopes, and they were completely extinguished on the turn.

Kanit Doubles Through Walter In Curious Fashion

KaleGozer • Level 7: 300-600, 100 ante

Joaquin Walter opened to 1,200 in middle position, Mustapha Kanit three-bet to 3,400 to his direct left, Walter four-bet to 7,700 and Kanit called, leaving the Italian with just 14,200 behind.

Both players checked the {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop. On the {5-Diamonds} turn, Walter bet 5,100 and Kanit moved in with his remaining stack. Walter gave it some thought before committing the call.

Mustapha Kanit: {K-Spades}{10-Clubs}
joaquin Walter: {K-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

Surprisingly enough, Kanit's king-high ten kicker was the best hand at the time. Walter had straight, flush, and pair outs to knock out Kanit but bricked on the {10-Spades} river.

Staples Eliminated; Other Counts from Main Room

The tables are quickly breaking out of the main tournament area, with just a handful left. Jaime Staples was one of the players seated there, but he appeared to lose the last of his chips, possibly to Dan Colman, who was stacking at Staples' old table with the dealer calling an open seat.

Christoph Vogelsang Eliminated

Webjoker • Level 7: 300-600, 100 ante
Christoph Vogelsang
Christoph Vogelsang

We missed it, when we arrived, Vogelsang was already getting up and packing his bags. Kirsch told our German colleague what had happened, and our colleague told us. So here's what happened in the hand.

Jeff Kirsch opened from late position and Christoph Vogelsang called from the big blind. Both of them checked on {K-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and the {3-Spades} hit the turn. Vogelsang bet out and Kirsch called. The river was the {2-Diamonds} and Vogelsang shoved for approximately 8,500. Kirsch called and Vogelsang mucked.

The dealer wanted a showdown but Vogelsang's cards were already unretrievable. The German high roller said he had {J-}{9-}. Kirsch tabled {K-Spades}{7-Spades} and took down the pot, eliminating Vogelsang.
