On Day 1a, 437 players registered. Yesterday, on Day 1b, 1,232 players entered. Before start of play today, another 13 signed up. That made for a total of 1,682 players, a small decrease compared to last year.
The total prize pool is €8,157,700 with €1,410,000 reserved for the winner, a lot more than Sebastian Malec won last year. Here's the total distribution of the prize pool:
Felipe Ramos had nursed a stack of around 40,000 for some time but that has since vanished, and the PokerStars Team Pro was sent to the rail along with the other familiar faces below. According to Ramos, his shove was called by an opponent with queen-jack and the Brazilian failed to hold up with ace-king.
A three-bet to 8,000 was in front of Simon Mattsson and Ismael Bojang in the big blind four-bet to 21,500. Mattsson squeezed to 73,000 and Bojang eventually called all in for 72,700.

The flop improved Mattsson and Bojang sighed, but was immediately relieved on the turn. The river was of no importance and Bojang doubled.
In the next hand, Mattsson open-shoved for 20,000 and Julien Sitbon called all in for 17,900 from one seat over. Mattsson had and Sitbon held up with thanks to a board of . Down to 2,000, Mattsson busted the very next hand.
Ihar Soika raised to 3,000 and Adrian Mateos from one seat over in the cutoff three-bet to 9,000, which Soika called. On the flop, Soika checked and called a bet of 7,500 by Mateos.
The same action repeated on the turn for 25,000 before the river went check, check. Soika rolled over and Mateos claimed the pot with . The Spaniard just signed up before the start of Day 2 and has ran up quite an impressive stack already.
Benoit Albiges raised to 3,000 and Bruno Politano called on the button. Erik Friberg three-bet to 11,000 in the small blind and both opponents called. On the flop all three players checked and Friberg's bet of 15,000 on the turn won the pot.
One hand later, Albiges raised to 3,000 and Vladimir Troyanovskiy moved in for 14,100, Albiges called.

Maria Lampropulos raised from under the gun and just the player in the big blind called. IOn the flop, the big blind check-called a bet of 3,200 by Lampropulos before the turn went check, check. After the river, the big blind made it 7,000 to go and Lampropulos eventually folded.
One table over is Ivan Luca, who has a lot of cashes but Lampropulos got the better single result with a seven-figure score in Nottingham earlier this year.
The player under the gun plus one opened for 2,800 and Jasper Wetemans called from middle position. Big blind Jakub Wojtas called as well so it was 3-handed to the flop of .
Wojtas and the initial raiser checked and Wetemans bet 4,200. Wojtas called, the initial raiser gave up.
Both players checked the on the turn and the completed the board. Wojtas checked and folded as Wetemans bet 11,000.
Wetemans started out the day rather short but was up to an above average stack within 30 minutes of play.
