High-stakes mixed games specialist Adam Owen has been eliminated from the PokerStars Championship Barcelona Main Event. Last year, the Brit finished 3rd in the EPT13 Barcelona Main Event to bank a whopping €646,250, easily the biggest score of his career.

We spoke with Owen on the rail. According to him, he saw a queen-high flop with {Q-}{10-} against Matas Cimbolas and got all the chips in. Cimbolas had {A-}{Q-} and the better kicker played to send Owen to the rail.

Akkari Fires 3 Times

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

As we arrived, the flop was already out in a pot between Andre Akkari and Jamie Whyte. Akkari, seated in the small blind, bet 1,800 on {10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. Whyte called from the big blind and called Akkari's 3,700 bet on the {K-Diamonds} turn and 8,500 on the {4-Diamonds} river as well. Akkari showed {K-Spades}{3-Diamonds} but that proved no good as Whyte tabled {K-Hearts}{9-Spades}.

Esposito Gets An Unexpected Double

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

With the board reading {5-Spades}{3-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, it was Lars Johansson who had 26.600 in front of him. Brian Esposito shoved for 71,200, sending Johansson in some deep thought. After three minutes, he slid in a stack of T-5,000 chips to call.

Brian Esposito: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Lars Johansson: {10-Spades}{8-Spades}

Esposito was caught with a mere ace-high. However, much to his surprise, his hand was best as Johansson needed to hit to improve. The river bricked with the {4-Hearts} and Esposito raked in the substantial pot with a stoic look on his face.

Salamoun's Hero Call Is Good

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Joining the action on the {6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop, Marwan Walid Salamoun bet 7,100 from early position and was called by Said Makhmed Masaev before the {A-Clubs} fell on the turn. Salamoun bet another 12,500 and was called before checking the {2-Diamonds} river.

Masaev now bet 14,000 and Salamoun called to see his opponent turn over {K-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. Salamoun triumphantly smashed his {K-Hearts}{J-Spades} to the table and scooped the pot with king-jack high.
