Thomas Spikes a Double

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

David Peters raised to 7,000 and Julian Thomas moved all in from one seat over for his last 28,500 from one seat over. Christoph Vogelsang in the big blind seemed interested but folded, while Peters quickly called.

Julian Thomas: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}
David Peters: {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}

"Yesss," Thomas joked, happy with the coin flip, while Christopher Kruk pointed to Peters and said "he is winning, at least preflop." The board came {Q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{J-Spades}{J-Hearts} and Thomas doubled.

Riess Among New Entries

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Mustapha Kanit immediately added to his stack after moving all in for 55,500 on the {K-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} turn and force a fold from Christoph Vogelsang, who was moved to a different table. Igor Kurganov arrived on the very same table with his second entry and Mikita Badziakouski is also back for more High Roller action.

Last but not least, Ryan Riess entered for the first time and took a seat between Christopher Kruk and David Peters.

Kanit and Machon Join; Chidwick Re-Enters and Fatehi Busts

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Within a few minutes, both Bartlomiej Machon and Mustapha Kanit entered the competition for the first time while Stephen Chidwick was back for bullet number two. Ali Reza Fatehi will have to buy back in as well if he wishes to take home a portion of the juicy prize pool, as he was just eliminated by JC Alvarado.

After a raise to 6,000 by Alvarado on the button, Fatehi shoved in the small blind for just 23,000 and Alvarado quickly called.

Ali Reza Fatehi: {K-Spades}{6-Spades}
JC Alvarado: {A-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}

The board of {A-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} left Fatehi drawing dead after the turn already and he was eliminated.

Break

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

The first break of the day has just commenced. Players return to the tables in 20 minutes. The 100-chips won't be in play when they do, those are getting raced off right now.

Two Double Ups Before the Break

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Stefan Schillhabel and Dietrich Fast
Stefan Schillhabel and Dietrich Fast

Thomas Muehloecker's raise was called by Adrian Mateos and the former then bet the {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop, Mateos raised and called the shove of Muehloecker for 69,000.

Muehloecker was the player at risk but had the best of it with {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}, while Mateos only flipped over {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. The {7-Spades} turn and {5-Hearts} river both blanked and Muehloecker doubled.

There were more fireworks one table over. Preflop, Dietrich Fast noticed the exposed {A-Spades} and his raise from under the gun found one caller. Stefan Schillhabel squeezed to 25,000 and Fast was the only caller. On the {8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Spades} flop, Schillhabel bet 17,000 and Fast moved all in to see his fellow countryman quickly call for 101,400.

Dietrich Fast: {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Stefan Schillhabel: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}

It was all over on the {A-Clubs} turn already to lock up the double for Schillhabel, and the meaningless {9-Diamonds} river completed the board.

Zhou No More

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

On the turn reading {A-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{8-Hearts}, a short-stacked Quan Zhou got the remainder of his chips in with pocket threes and Daniel Dvoress called from one seat over in the big blind with the {A-Hearts}{2-Clubs} for two pair. The {A-Clubs} on the river failed to improve Zhou, instead Dvoress even improved to a full house to send the Chinese to the rail.

Kurganov Hits the Rail

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Igor Kurganov
Igor Kurganov

Igor Kurganov jammed for 30,400 and found Ivan Luca behind him reshoving. Kurganov had {Q-Spades}{9-Spades} and beat Luca's {A-Clubs}{10-Spades} as the board ran out {K-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}.

That put Kurganov up back to well over 60,000 but he lost that not much later. The PokerStars Team Pro opened for 5,400 under the gun and Ivan Luca called right behind him. Christoph Vogelsang squeezed to 17,000 from the cutoff and Kurganov called, Luca folded.

Kurganov checked on {3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} and saw Vogelsang bet 13,000. Kurganov shoved for just under 50,000 and Vogelsang called.

Igor Kurganov: {7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Christoph Vogelsang: {J-Spades}{9-Spades}

The {3-Clubs} on the turn and {Q-Clubs} on the river weren't cards Kurganov was looking for and he exited the tournament area.

Thorel Busts Badziakouski

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Mikita Badziakouski
Mikita Badziakouski

The next two players to run out of chips were Koray Aldemir and Mikita Badziakouski.

Badziakouski was all in with the {J-Clubs}{4-Spades} out of the small blind on a flop of {J-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Jean-Noel Thorel looked him up from the big blind with the {J-Spades}{9-Clubs}. "The four is coming," Badziakouski announced, but the {3-Diamonds} turn and {8-Spades} river ensured that the kicker played to eliminate the Belorussian.

O'Dwyer Busts a Second Time

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Steve O'Dwyer and Dominik Nitsche
Steve O'Dwyer and Dominik Nitsche

On the tail end of a big pot between Steve O'Dwyer and Dominik Nitsche, the latter was all in for 52,700 on the river of a board {K-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. O'Dwyer eventually called and was shown the {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} from Nitsche. O'Dwyer mucked {K-Spades}{9-Spades} and dropped down to around 90,000 before losing the remainder of his stack to Dietrich Fast soon after.

Since O'Dwyer already bought in for the second time previously, he has become the first player to join the rail for certain.
