Neves Still Hot

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Helio Neves opened early and got three-bet to about 2,600 before Xiaoyang Luo shoved for roughly 16,000. Neves put in a call and the three-bettor mucked in short order.

Luo: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Neves: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}

Luo could only shake his head in wonder at Neves' hot run, and it continued with a {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} board.

Adams Chops

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

As we arrived, the turn was already out in a pot between Timothy Adams (button) and his neighbor Andrei Krylou (small blind).

Both checked on {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and the {J-Clubs} river completed the board. Krylou checked again and Adams bet 6,500. Krylou went into the tank and the clock was called after several minutes. He eventually called.

Adams reluctantly first showed the {K-Clubs} followed by the {9-Hearts}. Krylou tabled {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and the two chopped the pot as both played a pair of sevens, with an ace - king- jack.

O'Dwyer Busts Petrangelo

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Nick Petrangelo
Nick Petrangelo

In a battle of the big names and High Roller regulars, Steve O'Dwyer bested Nick Petrangelo to send the latter to the rail, though both may very likely meet again the next day in the €25,500 Single-Day High Roller.

With approximately 13,000 in the middle and the board reading {8-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{J-Clubs}, O'Dwyer bet 9,000 and Petrangelo called with another 22,000 behind. The {5-Diamonds} fell on the river and O'Dwyer moved all in to see Petrangelo quickly call with {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for a flopped set of sevens. O'Dwyer had the best of it with {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds} for a turned set of jacks and that was it.

Sam Greenwood Eliminated

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante
Sam Greenwood
Sam Greenwood

After an open to 1,100, Benjamin Chalot 3-bet to 3,200 from the hijack. Over on the button, Sam Greenwood cold 4-bet to 8,500 out of a 40,000 stack. The blinds and initial raiser folded, Chalot called.

Chalot checked on {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Spades} and Greenwood bet 4,000. Chalot shoved all in and after about half a minute or so, Greenwood called.

Sam Greenwood: {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}
Benjamin Chalot: {9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The {3-Diamonds} on the turn wasn't one of the cards that immediately helped Greenwood, and neither was the {4-Diamonds} on the river. Greenwood done and dusted, Chalot up to 85,000.

Thorel Induces Two Folds

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Oliver Weis opened early and got three-bet to 3,500 by Jean-Noel Thorel. The small blind cold-called and Weis came along to make it three to a {j-Clubs}{a-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop. Thorel took two checks as an invitation to fire 6,000 and he raked in the pot after two relatively speedy folds.
