Sorrentino Empties the Clip

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante
Raffaele Sorrentino (during PokerStars Festival Barcelona)
Raffaele Sorrentino (during PokerStars Festival Barcelona)

Kliment Roussev Tarmakov raised to 500 from the cutoff and Raffaele Sorrentino three-bet to 1,600 on the button and Tarmakov called. Sorrentino kept up his aggression and fired 1,500 on the {3-Clubs}{5-Spades}{A-Hearts} flop and 4,800 on the {6-Hearts} turn, which Tarmakov called both times.

The river was the {9-Spades} and Sorrentino emptied the clip with a bet of 11,000. Tarmakov buried himself in deep thoughts, eventually settling on a fold to give the PokerStars Championship Monte-Carlo winner the pot.

Juncadella Speeds Ahead of the Pack

Level 4 : 150/300, 50 ante
Dani Juncadella
Dani Juncadella

One of the early chipleaders of the day is Dani Juncadella, who's more than tripled his stack in the opening stages and currently sits behind 95,000. Although he's making his mark already at a tough table containing Georgios Sotiropoulos and Lawrence Bayley, among others, Juncadella's day-to-day job is even more impressive: professional racing driver.

Juncadella has been a test driver for Formula 1's Force India team in the past and will be driving for the HWA team in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) next year, a very popular racing division in Europe. Juncadella played the National Championship earlier this week, where he fired two bullets to no avail.

He can be followed on Twitter under his handle @dani_juncadella.

Geilich Takes it on the Turn

Level 4 : 150/300, 50 ante

Sparrow Cheung opened preflop and got two callers, then continuation-bet 1,100 on a {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} flop. Ludovic Geilich called from the hijack, and the big blind stuck around as well to the {8-Clubs} turn. Action checked to Geilich and he bet 4,500. That was enough to convince his opponents to give it up.

Geilich is coming in hot to the Main Event after posting a second-place finish in the €1,100 National Championship for €184,000. He also recently had a big score online and seems to be hitting his stride just in time for this Main Event.
