Qualifier Sorokin Scoops; Kakhmazov Not Dented

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

PokerStars online qualifier Viktor Sorokin just picked up a healthy pot, eliminating one opponent and picking up a few chips from top-stack Nadar Kakhmazov.

Kakhmazov had opened preflop to 2,000. Action folded around to the player in the small blind who moved all-in for just 300 more. Sorkokin, sitting in the big blind, bumped it up to 8,300 and Kakhmazov called.

The flop came {a-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and both players checked to the {k-Spades} on the turn. Sorokin fired out 11,000 and Kakhmazov folded.

Small Blind: {3-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Sorokin: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

Sorokin held the nuts, leaving his opponent drawing dead and the meaningless {5-Hearts} on the river just delayed Sorokin getting pushed the pot.

Korotkikh Eliminated

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Evgeniq Alikin and Mikhail Korotkih have been eliminated in the theater. The latter defended his big blind against a raise by Andreas Walter and check-shoved the {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop with {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for top pair. Walter quickly called with the {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs} for the overpair and the {5-Hearts} turn and {10-Clubs} river gave Walter a straight.

Dmitry Nikitin Calls Yehor Filipenko's Bluff

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Dmitry Nikitin raised to 2,200 from under-the-gun and Yehor Filipenko defended his big blind.

The flop came {q-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Nikitin check-called Filipenko's bluff. The turn {5-Clubs} was checked by both players and the {j-Hearts} came on the river.

Nikitin checked again and Filipenko bet 3,800. Nikitin called and Filipenko showed {k-Spades}{10-Spades} and Nikitin won the pot with {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}.

Shabalin No More

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Rustam Kuliev opened to 2,500 and Vladimir "shabalinvlad" Shabalin shoved for 22,200 from the hijack. Chris Moneymaker asked for a count and called on the button, while everyone else got out of the way.

Chris Moneymaker: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}
Vladimir Shabalin: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}

It was a classic coin flip and Shabalin improved to a pair of aces on the {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop. The {10-Spades} on the turn was no threat, however, a cruel {7-Diamonds} on the river gave Moneymaker a set and Shabalin the walk from the feature table.

A Triple and a Double Up

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Alexey Nikolenko raised and Sergey Lomakin three-bet to 7,100. Vahe Martirosyan called all in for 5,200 from the cutoff and Nikolenko shoved all in for 26,100. Lomakin called and put two opponents at risk.

Sergey Lomakin: {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Alexey Nikolenko: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Vahe Martirosyan: {4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}

The board of {7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} gave Martirosyan trips and Nikolenko the better two pair, while Lomakin got it in with the best hand and was left with just 18 big blinds.

Grigorii Rodin had arrived at table three not long ago and shoved a few times and did so again for 14,600. Vitaly Karayan called in the hijack with {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs} and Rodin flipped with {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. On a board of {K-Hearts}{10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. Alexander Un-Lukyanov Busts

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Alexander Lukyanov was all in and the player at risk on a flop of {7-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Yehor Filipenko was the man who had made the call.

Lukyanov was ahead preflop with {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} but Filipenko with {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} had flopped two pair.

Help from the deck was not forthcoming as the {2-Hearts} hit the turn and the {q-Clubs} completed the river and Lukyanov took his leave.

Double Up For Alexey Bilyuchenko

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Danila Solovyev had opened under the gun and was contesting the pot with Alexey Bilyuchenko.

They had reached the turn of a board reading {k-Spades}{8-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{7-Spades} with just over 25,000 in the middle and Solovyev had moved all in. He had Bilyuchenko covered.

Bilyuchenko started talking to his opponent in their native Russian and Solovyev was happy enough to answer and even laugh a little. Bilyuchenko called for his tournament life.

Solovyev was on a draw with plenty of outs holding {j-Spades}{10-Spades} while Bilyuchenko had {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

The river {7-Diamonds} was the proverbial brick and Bilyuchenko doubled up,

Nikolaev Doubles and Sultanov Busts

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Alimbay Sultanov
Alimbay Sultanov

Ezatulla Amani didn't have 75,000 but 15,000 when the day started and defended his big blind against the under-the-gun raise of Alimbay Sultanov. After the {K-Clubs}{J-Spades}{2-Spades} flop he got his last 12,000 in with {K-Hearts}{10-Spades} and Sultanov called with {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. The {9-Spades} turn and {K-Diamonds} river changed nothing anymore and Sultanov's stack was more than halved.

Soon after, he got it in with {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Vsevolod Nikolaev looked him up with the {A-Spades}{2-Spades}. After a board of {K-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{10-Spades}{K-Clubs}, Sultanov was drawing dead after the turn and headed to the rail.
