Yesterday saw 66 of 177 players advance after Day 1a of the PokerStars Festival Bucharest Main Event, and today is player's second chance to secure their place in Day 2. The stunning JW Marriot Bucharest Grand Hotel plays host and it is a fitting stage for the second PokerStars Live venture in the Romanian capital, also dubbed "Little Paris."
Last year, the inaugural Eureka Bucharest Main Event attracted 579 runners and ended with an all-Israeli heads-up between Avishai Shitrit and Moshe Eliyahu, with Shitrit standing tall. The Israeli received €107,350 for his accomplishment, easily the biggest achievement of his poker career.
Day 1b will start at 1 p.m. local time and will feature ten 45-minute levels, with late registration open until the end of level six. All players will receive 30,000 in chips and blinds will start at 50/100. 15-minute breaks are scheduled after level three, six, and eight.
Today also sees the special Turbo Day 1c, which is open to any player that was eliminated from either Day 1a or 1b. This turbo edition features 20-minute levels and gets underway at 9 p.m. local time.
All Day 1b survivors will return alongside their counterparts from Days 1a and 1c on Friday, August 4th at 1 p.m. local time, to play Day 2 with 60-minute levels. The PokerStars Festival Bucharest champion will be crowned on Sunday, August 6th. PokerNews will be on the floor to capture all the excitement of this PokerStars Festival!

Day 1b of the PokerStars Festival Bucharest Main Event is underway! Blinds are at 50/100 and there will be ten 45-minute levels today.
If yesterday is anything to go by, play will finish at around 21:30.
The clock shows 249 players at the start of Day 1b, with late registration open up until the end of Level 6. Among the first players are last year's winner Avishai Shitrit, Sam Grafton, chess grandmaster Loek van Wely, and Miroslav Forman.
Shitrit conquered the inaugural Eureka Bucharest Main Event last year, which attracted 579 runners. It ended with an all-Israeli heads-up between Shitrit and his countryman Moshe Eliyahu. Shitrit won the heads-up, lifted the trophy, and took home €107,350 for his efforts.

In a three-bet pot pre-flop, Iani Tulica checked a flop of to Nandor Solyom who bet 600. Tulica min-raised to 1,600 and Solyom called.

With the board reading , Stefan Dumitru Necsanu and Loek van Wely were involved in a hand where Necsanu had check-raised the flop. On the turn, Nescanu bet 2,200 and Van Wely called.

"Who do you guys work for?" asked Kfir Nahum, leaning around to talk to the bank of reporters sitting next to the tournament.
We explained that we worked for PokerNews and he leant back and smiled introducing himself. Nahum made a deep run in this year's WSOP Main Event, and was (officially at least) the best-performing Israeli.
"I had Aces cracked, then Queens," he explained, "And then I had nines against Ace-Ten and he hit runner-runner straight!
"There were a couple more Israelis unofficially better than me."
Nahum finished 61st and took home $121,188 for his efforts. He's looking for another deep run here in the PokerStars Festival Bucharest Main Event.
