Day 2 of the $3,300 PokerStars Festival Chile High Roller has come to an end, and just two players remain.

Argentenian Team PokerStars Pro, Leo Fernandez, leads the way with 388,000 chips. His opponent is Chile's own Rodrigo Borquez, sitting on a stack of 362,000, with both stacks being just a few big blinds apart.

Along with the title and elusive gold PokerStars trophy, the winner will pocket $20,950, with the runner-up guaranteed to take home $13,960.

The day began with eight players coming in from Day 1, plus four new entries before play began today. Fernandez was the only player to re-enter this event, and it proved to be a good idea with just one player remaining in between him and the High Roller title. Borquez registered midway through the day on Day 1 and battled his way to the final table, eventually earning himself a spot in the money, and now with a chance to win it all.

The unofficial final table came together after the elimination of Alan Manuel Mehamed when he got his queens cracked by Alex Manzano's set of sixes. Bustouts were fairly steady throughout the day, with Peru's Jorge Postigo leading right up until the bubble came around. Borquez was the one to take a massive chunk of his stack after getting a full double up with a full house, and Postigo was eliminated at his hands on the bubble just a few hands later.

This event attracted a total of 15 entries, making up a prizepool of $43,650 to pay three spots. Third place went to rugby star, Lucas Gonzalez, after he ran pocket jacks into Fernandez's pocket queens, settling for a payout of $8,740. Gonzalez was actually the last player to enter the field just before registration closed on Day 2, and he got off to a hot start the moment he took his seat.

As soon as Gonzalez was eliminated, Fernandez turned up the heat and won several pots along the way to bring his stack over the 500,000-chip mark, with over two-third of the 750,000 chips in play. Borquez managed to battle his way back to even things out as the last level of the night started, and neither player was able to close the tournament out before the last hand was dealt.

The field was most certainly competitive, and some of the notable players who entered included two-time LAPT winner, Oscar Alache, and LAPT winners, Alex Manzano, Richard Dubini, and Amos Ben.

Day 3 begins tomorrow at noon local time and will conclude once a winner is crowned. A full recap will be posted at the completion of the event, and until then, PokerNews will be on site with live updates until the last card is dealt.
