Lim Doubles Through Halme

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Finland’s Antti Halme took at big hit at the hands of Korea’s Jaehyun Lim after the two got involved in a pre-flop raising war that saw all the chips go in. Halme (cutoff) had the three-bet of 78,000 out on the felt in front of him as we arrived with Lim moving all-in from the small blind for 216,000 in total. Halme called quickly and the cards were turned over.

Jaehyun Lim: {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Antti Halme: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

Lim did not look happy at the speed of Halme’s call, grimacing and getting to his feet when the Finn rolled over his cards. However, the Korean was rewarded by the sight of the {k-Diamonds} window card with the rest of the board running out {5-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}. Lim doubled to 450,000 while Halme took the hit stoically, dropping to 348,000.

Kanjani moved all in and Kapoor reluctantly called it off. Kapoor flashed {2-Clubs}{2-Spades} for a full house and that won the pot, as Kapoor mucked his cards.

Gall Takes From Bansal, Bansal Takes From Falcon

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Germany’s Raphael Gall opened the action with a raise to 25,000 from the button and Uday Bansal chose to defend from the big blind with the flop falling {8-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{6-Diamonds}, with both players checking.

Bansal then decided to seize the initiative with a bet of 50,000 on the {8-Spades} turn with Gall shooting the Indian a suspicious stare and making the call.

The {10-Spades} river completed the hand but not the betting, with Bansal checking the action over to Gall, who decided the right amount to bet was 100,000.

It was Bansal’s turn to shoot his opponent a look and after thinking things over he made the call, but could only muck when Gall turned over {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for a rivered top pair.

The German stacked up to 775,000 while Bansal dropped to 690,000, though he managed to win some from Michael Falcon in a battle of the blinds an orbit afterward.

We picked up the action on the river with over 100,000 in blinds and antes already in the pot and the board reading {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} just as Bansal (small blind) checked the action over to Falcon (big blind).

The Dane fired out a bet of 80,000 and Bansal made a quick call. Falcon showed {k-}{q-} but this was not enough to best Bansal’s {j-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and the Indian player clawed some back, climbing to 950,000 after the hand while Falcon dropped to 1.44 million.

Nguyen Doubles Through Kim

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

A battle of the blinds escalated between Sejin Kim and Chi Thinh Nguyen. On a flop of {Q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} Kim clicked a bet of 88,000 up to 90,000 more before calling the reluctant shove of Nguyen on sheer pot odds.

Chi Thinh Nguyen: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Sejin Park: {10-Spades}{7-Spades}

The {5-Hearts} turn and {J-Hearts} river were both blanks and Kim lost a big portion of his stack to drop below half a million.

Buck Downs Kim in Two Hands

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Kenneth Buck open-shoved for 278,000 from under the gun and Soo Jo Kim called from a few seats over, all other players folded.

Kenneth Buck: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Soo Jo Kim: {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}

The board came {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Buck held up, leaving Kim very short. Kim shoved the next hand with the {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and Buck called in the big blind with {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. It was all good for Kim on the {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop and the {7-Diamonds} turn, but the {3-Hearts} fell on the river and left him empty-handed.

While table six broke, Zhe Li also ran out of chips and the field was reduced to the last 39 hopefuls.

Razavi Busts Yang

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

The next two casualties after the dinner break are Woohyuk Yang and Dhanesh Chainani.

Yang three-bet all in for his last 75,000 with the {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and Razavi called with the {J-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. The {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop all but ended the hopes of a comeback and it was officially over after the {5-Diamonds} turn, which rendered the {9-Clubs} river to a formality.
