Felicio Calls Down

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Renan Toniolo opened with a raise to 6,800. He was called by Roberly Felicio on the button and Jesse Rosen from the big blind.

On the {Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop, Rosen checked to Toniolo who bet 8,500. Felicio called while Rosen folded.

The turn was the {9-Clubs} and Toniolo fired again, this time betting 18,000. Felicio was not deterred, he called once more.

Both players decided to check on the {3-Spades} river. Toniolo showed {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a missed straight draw which was no good against Felicio's {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for two pair. That earned the pot for Felicio who now sits right around 200,000 chips.

Francisco Araujo
Francisco Araujo

With the completed board reading {J-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and about 60,000 chips in the pot, Francisco Araujo bet 21,000 from the hijack into his lone opponent, Hugo Marcelo, who was on the button. After some consideration, Marcelo called, and Araujo instantly showed {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for flopped trip fives. Marcelo mucked and Araujo took the pot.

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Hector Barua from the PokerStars Cup
Hector Barua from the PokerStars Cup

We didn't see the entirety of the preflop action but Marcelo Cudos was all in and at rish for roughly 30,000 chips holding {Q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. He had been called by Hector Barua who was holding {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}.

The board was safe for Barua all the way through when it came {J-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{8-Hearts} keeping his king kicker as the best hand.

Just several days ago Barua final tabled the PokerStars Cup here in Uruguay, taking home $5,000 after a five way deal. Barua is on the verge of another deep run here today in the Main Event as he as already started to amass a big stack.

Marcelo Misteps and Toniolo Continues to Climb

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

From the cutoff, Renan Toniolo opened with a raise to 5,100. Hugo Marcelo called him from the button and Roberly Felicio also came along from the big blind.

The flop came down {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and Felicio checked. Toniolo put out a bet of 6,000 which both players called.

On the {2-Hearts} turn, Felicio checked again. This time Toniolo bet 19,000, but only Marcelo called.

The river was the {3-Diamonds} and Toniolo fired a third bullet. This time he made it 44,000. Marcelo thought for about 30 seconds then decided to call. Toniolo turned up {K-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for a turned full house and it was good as Marcelo mucked his hand and sent over the chips.

Toniolo Doubles Through Araujo

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

With a massive pot of about 80,000 already brewing on a completed board of {J-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{Q-Spades}, Francisco Araujo checked from the small blind and Renan Toniolo shoved for 41,500 from the big blind. The player in the hijack tanked for about a minute before he folded, and once action was back on Araujo, he went into the tank for nearly five minutes. Eventually, he called to put Toniolo at risk. Toniolo flipped over {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} for rivered top pair, top kicker and Araujo tossed his cards into the muck.

Prato Misfires and Doubles Martinez

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

We caught the action on the river with the board showing {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. Action was on Gustavo Prato and with just over 18,000 in the pot, Gustavo moved all in for over 200,000. His opponent was Edinson Martinez who was put to the test for his last 75,000 chips. He dropped deep into the tank to think over the hand.

He took nearly five minutes to decide, but eventually, he did call. Prado paused and didn't move after the call, then finally tapped the table and revealed his {K-Diamonds}{7-Spades} for just king-high with the pair of twos on the board. Martinez showed {Q-Spades}{6-Spades} for a rivered flush and that was good to earn him the big double up and the pot. Meanwhile, Prato's bluff cost him nearly half his stack.

Colonese Slips

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

The player under the gun opened with a raise to 7,000, Fabio Colonese called from middle position, and the hijack called, as well.

The flop came {9-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Spades} and the preflop raiser checked. Colonese bet 10,000 and the hijack moved all-in for 67,400. The preflop raiser folded and Colonese called to put his opponent at risk.

Colonese: {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Hijack: {Q-Spades}{10-Spades}

Colonese had the nut-flush draw but found himself behind his opponent's flopped queen-high flush. The {9-Clubs} turn and {2-Hearts} river were no help to Colonese and his opponent doubled up.

Scacewater Slips

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

With about 14,000 chips already in the middle and the board reading {9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}, Mark Scacewater was in the big blind and heads-up against a player in early position. Scacewater checked, his opponent bet 3,600, and Scacewater called.

The turn brought the {7-Hearts} and both players checked.

The {J-Hearts} fell on the river and Scacewater checked. His opponent bet 8,800, and after brief consideration, Scacewater called. His opponent flipped over {K-Hearts}{J-Spades} for a rivered pair of jacks and Scacewater mucked.
