Nguyen Doubles Through Mariano

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Rob Mariano
Rob Mariano

Turbo Nguyen was all in for around 30,000 and Rob "Boston Rob" Mariano was in the tank on the small blind.

"It would be great to double through Survivor Rob," Nguyen said.

Mariano shoved with more and the big blind got out of the way. The cards were turned up and Nguyen was at risk.

Turbo Nguyen: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Rob Mariano: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}

Just before the board ran out, Mariano used his "one time." It was {q-Spades}{3-Spades}{k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{k-Spades} and the jacks held to secure the double for Nguyen.

"I can't believe you used your one time," Nguyen said.

"I had to use it!" Mariano replied.

"Some people get more than one," Josh Arieh added from Seat 1.

Normand and Fernandez Pick Up Early Chips

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Justin Liberto raised to 12,000 on the button and Frederic Normand defended from the big blind. The flop came {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Normand check-called a bet of 7,000 from Liberto.

The turn brought the {q-Spades} and both players checked to the {9-Hearts} on the river. Normand led out with a bet of 45,000 and Liberto let his hand go.

Next door, the action was similar with Franco Spitale raising to 12,000 from the cutoff. Sergio Fernandez called from the big blind and the flop came {a-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}. Fernandez check-called a bet of 10,000 from Spitale and the {q-Hearts} hit the turn.

Both players checked and the {4-Diamonds} paired the board on the river. Fernandez tossed in a bet of 22,000 on the river and Spitale dumped his cards to the muck.

Mariano Scores a Double

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Rob Mariano was down to just 80,000 chips after losing an earlier pot and he shoved all in from middle position. The action folded to Turbo Nguyen in the big blind who peeked at his cards and verbally declared that he was calling.

Rob Mariano: {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Turbo Nguyen: {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

"Fair fight," Nguyen said as the dealer spread the flop of {9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. Mariano's ace-high was still ahead and the {9-Diamonds} on the turn nor the {2-Hearts} on the river would change that as Mariano doubled up.

Marin's Middle Pair Beats Lococo

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Alejandro Lococo raised to 12,000 with {5-Spades}{5-Hearts} from early position. Sergio Carro Marin called in the cutoff with {7-Spades}{6-Spades} while Leon Sturm called from the big blind with {a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}.

Lococo continued for 13,000 on the {k-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop, with Marin calling and Sturm getting out of the way.

Lococo fired again for 49,000 on the {2-Hearts} turn and Marin took a moment before making the call.

The {3-Clubs} river saw both players check, with Marin showing down his pair of sixes to beat Lococo’s pocket fives.
