Mike "MeleaB" Brooks was recently eliminated from the WCOOP Main Event. You may recall, PokerNews did an interview with Brooks awhile back on Black Friday, namely that he was on of the first (if not the first) players to move out of the country in order to continue playing online poker. Here is a quick piece from that article, but you can read the entire thing simply by clicking here.
"Mike "MeleaB" Brooks moved to the U.S. in 2000 on a teaching program, with nary a thought about online poker; however, like many Brits, he did know a bit about online sports betting. While playing on Betfair, he discovered poker in 2003, and by March of 2006, Brooks had taken up the game full time. While he played primarily on Full Tilt Poker, he made the switch to PokerStars in 2008 and reached SNE status shortly thereafter. When the events of Black Friday happened, Brooks was living in North Carolina, and within a week, he had uprooted his family and headed back to England, quite possibly making him the first online pro to do so."
In the last hand before the break, action folded to Alexandre "Allingomes" Gomes on the button and he raised to 1,350. Team PokerStars Pro (Canada) Pat Pezzin was in the small blind and pushed back to the tune of 3,600. The big blind got out of the way, Gomes four-bet to 6,240, and Pezzin called.

Showdown
Pezzin:
Gomes:
Gomes' overpair was ahead, but Pezzin flopped an open-ended straight draw. Lucky for him, the spiked on the turn to complete the said straight and guarantee his survival. The inconsequential was put out on the river and Pezzin took down the 45.258 pot. "Jeez," was all Gomes could say in the chat box after the hand.
"Andre_Hansen" opened for 1,200 and found callers in Steve "betrthanphil" Tripp and "Jack55." When the flop came down , Jack55 checked, Andre_Hansen bet 2,400, and only Tripp made the call. Both players proceeded to check down the turn and river, prompting Tripp to flip over , which was good against his opponent's .
