Czap Applies Pressure

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

A player opened to 3,000 on the button only to see Stephani Czap three-bet to 6,000 out of the big blind. The button player did make the call to send action heads-up to the flop.

Czap immediately moved all in with the covering stack on a flop of {2-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. Her opponent, with around 16,500 behind, seemed reluctant to fold but did end up letting his hand go.

Rockets Boost Chan

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

A player in middle position limped before a player one seat over moved all in for what appeared to be around 20,000. Tony Chan cold called from the cutoff with the button, blinds and middle position player all getting out of the way.

Middle Position Player: {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Tony Chan: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}

Chan had found pocket rockets at an opportune moment and looked set to score a huge pot. That is exactly what happened after the board ran out {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}, sending the middle position player out of the tournament.

Phong Vip Nguyen is no stranger to success in the poker world and has managed to make a good start to the day. A player moved all in for their last 10,000 on the button and was looked up by Nguyen with the covering stack out of the small blind.

Button Player: {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Phong Vip Nguyen: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Nguyen was comfortably ahead and remained so on the {8-Clubs}{6-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts} runout to send his stack north of the 50,000 mark.

Katsikes Jams Turn

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

A player opened to 1,200 from under the gun and was called by a player in middle position. James Katsikes then three-bet to 5,200 from one seat over. Action folded back around to the under the gun player who took some time before deciding to call. The middle position player, meanwhile, opted to fold.

Action checked to Katsikes on a flop of {j-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and he continued for 5,000. His opponent, after sizing up Katsikes' stack, once again called.

The under the gun player checked for a second time following the {6-Spades} turn, prompting Katsikes to move all in for his last 16,000. Appearing unhappy with the situation, the under the gun player eventually folded.

Marsans Takes Small Hit

Level 5 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

A player in the cutoff limped as did the button. Mario Marsans responded with a raise to 2,000 out of the small blind, which was called by the big blind. Both limpers got out of the way to send action heads up to the flop.

Marsans led out for 2,500 on the {3-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop only to see his opponent raise to 7,500. Marsans made the call.

The {a-Spades} turn saw Marsans slow down, checking before folding to a 10,000 barrel to take a small hit to his stack.

Einsidler Finds A Call

Level 5 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

The button limped as did the small blind to send the action to Izzy Einsidler in the big blind, who decided to raise to 1,500. Both opponents called to send the action three-way to the flop.

The small blind checked on a flop of {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts} and Einsidler continued for 4,000. The button folded while the small blind called to generate a decently large pot heading to the turn.

Both players checked through the {3-Clubs} turn to the {7-Clubs} river at which point the small blind fired off a hefty 11,000. Einsidler appeared puzzled and considered for some time before deciding on a call. The player in the small blind turned over pocket sixes but they were no good as Einsidler revealed he held {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for the superior two pair. The small blind was left with dust and eliminated on the next hand.
