"You're Welcome, Everyone!": Seniors Bubble Bursts in Double Knockout

The $330 Seniors event was two players away from the money, but that changed after one hand involving Rusty Lawson.

Lawson had two players covered in a three-way all in and the cards were flipped.

Opponent 1: 10♦10♣ All in
Opponent 2: 5♦5♥ All in
Rusty Lawson: Q♠10♠

The flop of J♠A♣7♠ gave Lawson extra outs with a flush draw before the board finished out 2♠4♣ to bring him his flush as both of his opponents were sent to the rail empty handed.

"You're welcome, everyone!" Lawson told the event's remaining players.

Simultaneous Bubbles Today

There are two simultaneous bubbles right now as action heats up at the 2026 Potomac Summer Poker Open.

On one side of the room is the $400 Mixed PLO event that has ten players remaining and nine spots paid. And on the other side is the $330 Seniors event that is two spots away from the money with 24 places paid.

Hand-for-hand play is underway in the PLO event, while we are still one elimination away from hand-for-hand over in the Seniors event.

Another winner was crowned last night at the 2026 Potomac Summer Poker Open as Virginia's John P. Hall took down the $500 NLH one-day event for $20,615.

The Bristow resident added to his $227,943 in career live earnings as he defeated runner-up Scott Willette.

Others at the final table included Shannon Fahey (3rd - $9,678), Nicholas Banyas (4th - $7,214), and Francsesco Nigro (5th - $5,675).

The event produced a prize pool of $87,980 to smash the $50,000 guarantee. A full list of results is available in the table below.

Registration is closed for the $30,000 guaranteed $500 Seniors event and the prize pool has been calculated.

The second seniors event of the Potomac Summer Poker Open, this one for players 50 and up, drew 190 runners for a prizes pool of $78,850 to more than double the guarantee.

The money There will be 24 places paid with a minimum cash worth $729. Meanwhile, the winning senior will walk away with $19,981.
