There's been another chop here at the Potomac Poker Open, this time in the $400 PLO Mix.

Fred X. Hoban and Matt Mullins reached a heads-up deal that saw them splitting the remaining prize money evenly to each take home $5,990.

The final table also included Samuel Nasat (4th - $1,906), Han Oh (5th - $1,470), and Kyle Gjonaj (8th - $871), who burst the bubble en route to his final table finish.

The third and final final table tonight has formed as $400 NLH Single Re-Entry reached its final nine players.

The event had 11 spots paid, meaning there were just two players in the money who missed out on the final table.

The $500 Seniors event has reach a final table that is playing out in the back of the MGM National Harbor poker room.

The final table includes the visor-wearing Rusty Lawson, who secured a chunk of his chips in a double knockout that burst the bubble.

Chasing a Third Title With "Intimidation Purposes" Card Protector

There was a trophy on the felt in the $500 Seniors event, but it wasn't for the winner. No, the glass trophy in question belonged to Virginia's MaClaren Chatham, who won it earlier this year in a previous Potomoac Poker Open seniors event.

Chatham was going for his third straight Potomac Poker Open title when PokerNews' Joe Garrett spoke to him. He chopped the August 2025 edition heads-up for $12,050, and more recently won the Potomac Winter Poker Open event in February outright for $22,685.

"It's been a tough table so far," Chatham said early in the day. "Going for back-to-back-to-back. Three seniors titles at the Potomac Poker Open."

But Chatham had an interesting strategy for getting his opponents to stay out of his way, which brings us back to his tall glass trophy, which he used as a card protector.

"My raises weren't getting the proper respect. So I had to bring out the intimidation purposes."

Chatham ended up busting outside of the money, but he still walked away with the trophy.

Registration has now closed for all events today after the end of late registration in $400 NLH Single Re-Entry.

The one-day event drew 85 runners for a prize pool of $28,050. There are 11 places paid, with a minimum cash being worth $813. Meanwhile, the winner will walk away with the trophy and $9,046.

After around an hour of hand-for-hand play, the bubble finally burst in the $400 Mixed PLO event.

The casualty occurred during an orbit of the most common Omaha game, four-card PLO. Kyle Gjonaj did the dirty work as he sent a player to the rail in tenth place.

On a board of K♣10♠Q♥4♣8♣, Gjonaj held K♠K♦5♣5♠ for a set of kings to beat out the aces up of his opponent with A♦Q♦10♥5♥.

Three-Way Chop in $300 Black Chip Bounty Sees One Player Getting $1 More

The final three players chopped in last night's $300 Black Chip Bounty, but one of the players got a slightly sweeter deal than the rest, one that earned him an extra dollar in his pocket.

Khoi Tran got the highest payout, $2,920, while Peter Ackers and Kenya Jackson both received $2,919. The event drew 103 runners for a prize pool of $14,420.

Also among the 13 players who cashed were Joan Bousman (4th - $1,082), Douglas Marinovich (5th - $1,082), and Ilya Sviriduk (6th - $844).
