Roselius Goes Bounty Hunting

Level 3 : 100/300, 300 ante

A player raised to 800 from UTG, and was called by the cutoff. Steve Roselius three-bet to 2,800 from the small blind, and both of his opponents called.

Roselius bet 4,100 on the {q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop, and the UTG player called. The cutoff tanked for some time before jamming for 7,300 total.

"Can I raise on top of that or not?" Roselius asked the dealer, who erroneously told Roselius that he could. Roselius did indeed shove all in, which chased out the UTG player.

Roselius: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Opponent: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

Roselius had two overs and flush draw to draw to against the pair of sevens of his opponent, and the {3-Diamonds} turn sealed the knockout and the $500 bounty for Roselius before the {3-Spades} could fall on the river.

Houston Gets in a Check-Raise

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

A player raised to 600 from the cutoff, and Krystalina Houston made the call in the big blind.

The {4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{a-Spades} flop was checked by Houston, and her opponent bet 500. Houston cut out a raise to 1,300, and her opponent thought briefly before making the call.

The {6-Spades} fell on the turn, and Houston fired out 2,200. Her opponent took a moment before tossing his cards to the muck.

Another side event that recently wrapped at the RIU Reno VIII was the $125 All In or Fold. The tournament attracted 149 entries and offered up a $15,000 prize pool. Among those to get a piece of it were Ryan Parker (3rd - $1,705), Adam Owen (6th - $855), Jason Somerville (9th - $480), Twitch streamer Arlie Shaban (12th - $380), and Anthony Lombard (15th - $300).

The tournament came to an end when Kyle Anderson of Oakville, Ontario, Canada and David Davis of West Moreland, Tennessee struck a deal that saw them secure $3,185 and $3,000 respectively. While he technically finished in second place, David Davis got the trophy and winner’s pic.

The PokerNews Live Reporting Team is focused on five events at the RIU Reno VIII, but there are plenty of side events throughout including last night’s $125 Win the Button NLH, a tournament played like traditional no-limit hold’em but awards the button to the winner of each pot.

The tournament attracted 175 runners and surpassed its $15,000 guarantee by generating a $16,975 prize pool. That was paid out among the top 28 players including Paul Sampson (5th - $900), Jamie Kerstetter (9th - $390), Andrew Neeme (12th - $310), Chad Holloway (14th - $250), Frank Lagodich (15th - $250), Andy Camou (21st - $200), and Arlid Orsleie (28th - $200).

In the end, Steven Filipovic of Cambridge, Ontario, Canada defeated Indiana’s Jason Pease in heads-up play to win the title and $4,125 first-place prize.
