In a battle between the blinds, Rich Grismer led out for 100,000 on a flop of J♣4♣10♣ and Josh Matti called.
The turn was the 9♠ and Grismer moved all in for 380,000. Matti took a few minutes before calling with J♥8♣, but Grismer had him dominated with K♥J♦.
The river, though, was the 7♠ to give Matti a straight, and Grismer was eliminated in 19th place.
John McGriff moved all in for 220,000 in the cutoff and Jon Wurden called in the big blind.

McGriff was racing for his tournament life as the flop came 2♠J♦Q♠. The turn was the J♥, but the Q♣ river counterfeited his pair and sent McGriff to the rail in 20th place.
Heads-up on a flop of 3♦Q♦Q♥, Eric Hanson bet 160,000 from middle position and Mikiyo Aoki called under the gun.
Hanson bet another 260,000 on the J♥ turn, and Aoki again called. The river was the J♦ and Aoki led out for 300,000. Hanson called, and Aoki showed Q♣Q♠ for quads to win the big pot.
Alan Curl raised to 65,000 under the gun, Zeph Irion moved all in for 260,000 on the button, and Curl called.

Irion's fours stayed in the lead through the 9♥8♣9♠7♦ board, but the 8♠ river counterfeited his pair and Curl took the pot with his ace to send Irion to the rail.
At another table, Preston Dean had bet 200,000 from the big blind on a board of 7♥9♠3♦5♠ and Harold Brenden moved all in for 355,000 in the cutoff. Dean tanked for several minutes, and eventually called with A♦3♥.
Brenden, though, showed J♥9♦ for top pair. The river was the J♣ and Brendan doubled up with two pair.
Jake Peasley moved all in for 220,000 in early position and Lorri Riley called in the big blind.

Riley hit two pair on the 4♥K♣4♠ flop, while the 4♣ turn improved her to a full house. Peasley would chop the pot with another four on the river, but it was instead the 2♠ and he was eliminated in 22nd place.
Jimmy Hadley moved all in for 205,000 in the hijack and Preston Dean called in the big blind.

The 9♥3♦9♦ flop was no help to Hadley, while the J♣ fell on the turn to give Dean a full house. The river was the 4♠ and Hadley was eliminated in 24th place.
At the same time at another table, Nobu Aoki had shoved for 225,000 under the gun and his sister Mikiyio reraised to 420,000 in middle position, chasing away the rest of the table.
