Justin Gardenhire Grabs Day 1c Chip Lead; Jesse McVicker is the Man to Catch

Day 1c of the 2015 RunGood Poker Series Hard Rock Tulsa drew 126 entrants, bringing the total across the three Day 1 flights to 363. The $100,000 guarantee was never in question and ultimately neither was the quest to see it doubled.

After 12 levels of play at 30 minutes each, just 33 players survived from this flight.

The Day 1c chip leader is RunGood pro Justin Gardenhire, who bagged 153,500. That number is slightly unimpressive versus the leaders from the first two flights, but very impressive since he did it in just four levels of play after entering at the last minute before registration closed for the day.

Other notables to advance to Sunday's Day 2 are Ladd Gibke (152,500), Robert Skulman (136,000), and Dan "Wretchy" Martin (101,000).

Those that advanced will join previous chip leaders Jesse McVicker (254,000, Day 1a) and Miguel Hernandez (187,500, Day 1b, from the first two flights when they combine to play Day 2 on Sunday. A total of 88 players advanced and will have their eye on the $49,259 top prize plus a $10,000 World Series of Poker Main Event seat.

Keep your eye on PokerNews Sunday as we will bring you Day 2 action starting at noon local time.

Martin Straight Up Doublin'

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

We walked up to a flop of {5-}{j-}{10-} and Dan "Wretchy" Martin had bet all of his remaining chips. His opponent thought for a moment and then called, tabling {a-}{10-}. Martin turned over {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for the open-ender and didn't have to wait long as the {7-Hearts} came on the turn to set Martin straight and keep him kickin'.

Bunch Ousted

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

We didn't catch the action, but Eric Bunch has been eliminated. We did recently catch him doubling up a player after his peak in chips and his downfall was swift and brutal from there.

Murfin Busts Traber

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 300 ante
Randy Murfin
Randy Murfin

We picked up the action after a flop of {8-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Randy Murfin bet 8,000 into his heads-up opponent, James Traber. Traber called and the {8-Diamonds} turn brought two checks. The {j-Clubs} fell on the river and Murfin checked. Traber moved all in for approximately 10,000 and Murfin quickly called, turning over {k-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. Traber mucked and exited the tournament area.
