RunGood Poker Series

This marks the second stop of the RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) “Showbound” season, and we at PokerNews are excited to be along for the ride offering live updates for all $575 buy-in $100k GTD Main Events.

Throughout the 2019 RGPS Showbound Season, powered by PokerGO, players have the chance to win invitations to compete in a season-ending invite-only freeroll satellite at Hard Rock Tulsa for a pair of $5,000 Sit & Go seats to be on Poker After Dark in Las Vegas. Packages include an “airfare and hotel” travel stipend (Must be 21 to participate in the freeroll satellite, invitations are non-transferable, limited to one invitation and seat per player.)

To receive an invite, all you need to do is win any RGPS Showbound side event or final able any Main Event. “Showbound Powered by PokerGO” will encourage tournament participants at all tour stops to dress to impress and walk the crimson carpet on their way to the poker table.

“As a kid, I would always daydream about being able to compete in front of thousands of people,” said RunGoodGear.com President and RunGood Poker Series owner Tana Karn. “With the partnership of PokerGO and the RunGood Poker Series, we get to make that dream come true for two individuals on one of poker’s most beloved shows. We can’t wait to roll out the red carpet and have the world tune in for a spectacular season.”

First break

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante

The players are now on their first scheduled 15-minute break. When they return, Level 5 will get under way with blinds of 200/400 with a 400 ante.

Aces Hold for Sanders

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante
Bill Sanders
Bill Sanders

We arrived at the table with the preflop action already under way.

Seat 5 had min-raised from early position to 600. Seat 7 called. Bill Sanders three-bet from the blinds to 2,600. The original raiser quickly announced all-in. Seat 7 folded and Sanders snap-called, turning over {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}. Seat 5 saw the bad news and said, "Again?" before tabling {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}.

The dealer spead a flop of {10-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, leaving only backdoor draws for Sanders' opponent. The turn was the {6-Clubs}, effectively ending the hand. The board completed with a meaningless {4-Diamonds} and Sanders became one of the chip leaders.

James Beeler, on Sanders' left, has also chipped up as we near the first break of the day.

Bolivar, Missouri resident William McCracken (pictured) has taken the chip lead early in the first flight.

Known by "Shawn" as well as "William," depending on the venue, the RGPS veteran has bagged the Day 1 chip lead in the RunGood Main Event more than once. His biggest score was in October 2017 when he took down the title and $91,123 in the HPT's $1,650 Main Event at the Ameristar in Kansas City.

McCracken has three RGPS Main Event final tables on his resumè, including a second-place finish in September 2016 for $28,833.

Grant and Mason Hinkle have a Kansas City home game nicknamed "Monday Night Poker," which includes game regulars Paul Strohm, Craig Dick, and Jim Indiveri, among others.

The Hinkles have been seated side-by-side at Table 29, but they won't have the spotlight to themselves. Also at their table are RG Ambassador Daniel Lowery (6 WSOPC rings), Bart Bogard (2 WSOPC rings), and last night's $165 6-max winner Nic Petree ($4,337). Mike Tang finished second to Mark Martin in the Main Event in 2014, and William Scarsdale made the final table of the inaugural RGPS at Downstream in March 2014.
