Cowboys Kind To Jacob

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

John Jacob raised to 2,700 from middle position over an early-position limper and saw another player go all in over the top of him for 7,700 out of the hijack. Action folded back to Jacob and he quickly called.

All-In Player: {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}
John Jacob: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Jacob was way out in front as the flop fell {9-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}. The turn {9-Diamonds} left his opponent drawing dead and the river {2-Hearts} came to finish the runout, sending his opponent home as he collected the pot to bring him close to four starting stacks early in Level 8.

Blanton Gives Leon the Pile

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

There was around 5,000 in the middle from preflop action between David Leon in middle position and Ken Blanton, who was in the cutoff. The flop came {j-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Leon bet 2,800. Blanton called.

The turn fell {j-Spades} and Leon slowed down, tapping the felt to check. Blanton responded by putting the petal to the metal, shoving all in for what appeared to be 17,000. Leon thought for about 10 seconds and let his hand go, giving up contention to the pot along the way as it was shipped to Blanton without the hand coming close to a showdown.

Smith Wins Flip for a KO

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Dusti Smith
Dusti Smith

A player in early position opened to 1,800 and got a call from a player on his left as well as Dusti Smith, who was in middle position. Action then folded around to the player on the button, who shoved all in for around 19,000. All players folded back to Smith, who made the call.

All-In Player: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Dusti Smith: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

The two were off to the races as the flop came {2-Spades}{3-Clubs}{q-Spades}, leaving Smith further out in front than she started. She pulled away even further as the turn fell {8-Diamonds}, leaving one card left to sweat for the knockout. The river fell {2-Diamonds} to secure the elimination, effectively doubling in the process to bring her total chip count to more than double that of starting stack.

Kelly finds himself with just under two starting stacks nearing the halfway point in Flight C, with Level 6 coming to an end and 12 total levels on the schedule for the evening.

Weitzel Fires Twice

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

There was 3,000 in the middle on a flop of {3-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{10-Spades} and Stephen Hart checked from the small blind. Lonny Weitzel was in the big blind and bet 2,000, getting a call from Kevin Koch who was under the gun. The fourth and final player in the hand was on the button and folded, as did Hart to take action heads up to the turn {6-Hearts}.

Weitzel continued, betting another 7,000 to put Koch into the tank. Koch thought for about 30 seconds, counting some of his chips before letting his cards go to see the pot sent Weitzel's way.
