Kevin Goldman outlasted a field of 275 entries to capture the first ring of the RGPS Bay Area stop. The top 35 places paid out from a total prize pool of $55,000, and Goldman took home $12,100 for the victory.

Joe Stapleton raised to 4,000 and a player on the button called before Kevin Coffman shoved for around 40,000. Stapleton folded in a disappointed manner and the button followed him into the muck to give Coffman the pot.
A short while later, Coffman stopped by the PokerNews desk to advise that he had busted out when his bluff shove ran into trips.
