The Biggest RunGood Main Event Ever Kicks Off Saturday

RunGood Series Champion's Ring
RunGood Series Champion's Ring

History will be made this weekend at the beautiful Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln California, just north of Sacramento, as the RunGood Poker Series wraps up its 2022 season with the Contenders $1,000,000 Season Finale. The first time the tour has ever run a seven-figure guaranteed tournament.

The $2,500 buy-in tournament begins at noon today, and the excitement around the casino has been palpable all week as huge fields in side events and satellites have turned the Thunder Valley poker room into the epicenter of poker in California.

As it is their biggest event ever, the RunGood team has spared no expense and pulled out all the stops to make this event truly feel as big as it is, including a red-carpet pregame show starting at 11:30 a.m. local time, 30 minutes before cards go in the air for Day 1a. The pre-show will be streamed live on the Thunder Valley poker room Twitter page.

When play begins, entrants will start the day with 40,000 chips at blind levels of 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante. Eight 60-minute levels will be played on each of the two opening days, Saturday and Sunday, with 15-minute breaks every two levels.

Ten more 60-minute levels are scheduled for Day 2 on Monday, with Tuesday’s Day 3 seeing play continue until the largest first prize in RunGood history is awarded, along with the prestigious RunGood Contenders Series ring, and an entry into the RunGood Pro-Am later this month at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas.

One re-entry will be allowed on each of the opening flights, and before Day 2 begins on Monday, when registration closes at the start of Level 9. Players choosing to max late-reg at the start of Day 2 will still start with a generous 27 big blinds.

A final chance to get into the tournament at a discount will also take place Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. with a $400 satellite with five seats guaranteed.

Stay tuned to PokerNews, as our live reporting team is on-site to provide updates on all the action until a champion is crowned on Tuesday.
