Deja Vu at Table 21

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Toan Nguyen opened to 4,500 from late position and was called by Daniel Rago in the cutoff, but then Cody Golden moved all in from the button for 25,000.

Nguyen and Rago both tossed in their hands and Golden was awarded the pot for a nice pickup.

The very next hand, Nguyen opened again to 4,500 and again Rago made the call, and guess what, Golden AGAIN moved all in.

Nguyen made yet another fold but Rago had had enough and made the call to put him at risk.

Cody Golden: AK
Daniel Rago: KQ

It seemed like Rago had fallen right into Golden's trap, but the flop of JQ4 said differently as Rago took the lead with his pair of queens. The turn K left Golden drawing to only an ace, or a ten for a straight, but the river 5 did not do it and he was eliminated from the tournament.

Brick Brick for Tran

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

On a heads-up flop of 4910, Felipe Quijamo set out a stack of chips to put his opponent, Khanh Tran, all in.

Tran quickly made the call to put himself at risk and the cards were tabled.

Khanh Tran: QJ
Felipe Quijamo: AJ

The board ran out 97 for Quijamo's ace-high to hold and Tran was eliminated.

Patterson Takes it Down

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Tyler Patterson

On a three-way flop of 427, James Sparhawk led out for 2,500 from the small blind but was te raised to 7,50 by Tyler Patterson in middle position. Kevin Choi made the call from the hi-jack while Sparhawk got out of the way.

On the turn Q, the action went check-check and they went straight to the river 5.

Patterson then fired out for 9,000 which prompted a fold from Choi to award him the pot while Sparhawk was left shaking his head.
