Day 1bc Completed
Two full starting flights played to their conclusion Saturday inside the Horseshoe Casino Tunica for the 2023 RunGood Poker Series Tunica $600 Main Event. Day 1b started at 11 a.m. and drew 237 entries and Day 1c’s 6 p.m. start added another 214 to that tally, bringing the grand total to 601 entries for the tournament.
Coming into the day, Jon Swift (389,000) was the one to catch, and a good amount of players did so with Mike Chilton bagging 773,000 at the close of Day 1b. However, Day 1c chip leader Brodie Harris totally eclipsed that number, finishing play with a staggering 1,014,000 after scooping a huge pot to bust Chris Moneymaker.
In total, 30 players advanced from the first flight and another 27 made it through later in the evening.
A perfect 12.5% of all three flights made it through their respective days, meaning 76 players from the 601 total entries will return for Sunday's Day 2 at 11 a.m. local time to play down to a winner. Other notables on that list include BJ McBrayer (397,000), Drew Gonzalez (190,000), and former RGPS champs Denise Pratt (228,000) and Max Le (234,000).
A few names that came close to bagging but were not fortunate to do so included RunGood Ambassador ] and Bart Bogard, as well as Anthony Burns and Scott Brandau, who exited on the stone bubble of Day 1c. 2003 WSOP Main Event Champ Chris Moneymaker also made a deep run in Day 1c but fell just a few places short of the money.
PokerNews will be back at it again tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. to take you through to the finish line, so be sure not to miss it!

After a raise to 18,000 preflop, short-stack Scott Brandau moved all in for his last 35,000 on the stone bubble. Bj McBrayer then re-raised to 75,000 which put the pressure on Chico Pho.
After a good minute in the tank, he finally folded face up, much to the table's surprise. Brandau and McBrayer then tabled their cards, with Brandau at risk.
Scott Brandau:
BJ McBrayer:
"Man, what am I doing over here!" Pho was kicking himself for folding the best hand.
Brandau needed some help to stay alive, but the board of did him no favors and he was knocked out on the stone bubble.
His elimination ended the day and the players began the bagging process for tomorrow's Day 2.
A full chip count and recap of both flights will be released shortly so stay tuned!

On a three-way flop of , Brodie Harris checked to Chris Moneymaker, who bet 20,000 and was called by Walker Miskelly.
Harris then put in a big raise to 120,000 but then Moneymaker ripped in his stack of 260,000. Miskelly went into the tank for a brief stint and eventually elected on a fold while Harris snap-called to put Moneymaker at risk.
Chris Moneymaker:
Brodie Harris:
Moneymaker did not look happy as he realized he was in bad shape, and the runout of secured Harris' victory and sent the 2003 WSOP Main Event Champ to the rail. Meanwhile, Miskelly was kicking himself as he admitted he folded king-queen and would have scooped the entire pot.

After suffering a brutal loss with pocket aces against pocket eights (which hit quads), Jimmy Angotti was left with just a single big blind.
"I'm ALL IN, or call, whichever works," he joked when it was his turn to act, which resulted in a good chuckle from the table. Chris Moneymaker then raised it up to 20,000 and got a call from John McKoy.
The flop came out and Moneymaker continued for another 25,000, which resulted in a fold from McKoy.
"You got a monster don't you, Chris?" Angotti asked him as they prepared to table their cards.
"Yeah I do," Moneymaker replied as he flipped over .
"Well, I got three outs," Angotti said as he tabled his .
Angotti did have three outs, but none of them came as the board ran out and he was sent to the rail as Moneymaker was shipped the pot.

"Kowabunga!" Alec Wilson declared as he moved all in from under-the-gun, finding one call from Anthony Burns to his direct left.
The cards were then tabled, with Wilson at risk.

Anthony Burns:
Wilson was a slight favorite going into this flip, and the board ran out as clean as possible with to give him the victory for a double-up.
Meanwhile, Burns was left with around 10 big blinds and busted shortly afterwards.
